Notes from down south. Wildlife corner (no.5). February 4, 2014. Wildlife corner (no.5) featuring never seen on this blog before pictures of Orcas, Blue-eyed shags and swimming penguins. Firstly, the Orcas:. We had a couple of days in January where a pod came to swim around the bay on consecutive days. I missed them the first day but was sure to be there with my camera on the next. But finally I got one! Subscribe to An Antarctic Doctor via email. Join 51 other subscribers. From Rothera to Rotherham.

http://timburtonphotography.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 25 March 2011. I have to say there's a lot to be said for getting paid to do what you love - and my record so far is pretty good all in all. I had 4 days working as photographer for Skiworld. The largest independent ski company in the UK (nice plug eh! Shooting for their brochure, website and other publicity. Now the issue was that it hadn't really snowed properly since Christmas so before departure my fingers were crossed that the marketing manager had organised a dump of snow! At about 34 years...

Wednesday, 15 June 2011. Ski Mountaineering in Norway - Part 2. Been away and too busy and finally getting round to writing this. And this time I'm going to cut the chat and just get onto the pictures as the last post was a bit waffly I think! Back to the tree skiing. And the bog trotting. Skis are a very useful tool on many surfaces it seems! So, back to the Lyngen Alps peninsula proper, a skiing mecca! So much to choose from, so little time. Amazing views south along the Lyngen Alps Peninsula. Up the g...

Tuesday, 29 January 2013. Mt Erebus Antics Part 1. This bubbling lake of lava is the reason the G081 project exists - studying and monitoring the famous Antarctic volcano, Mt Erebus. Therefore this lake was the reason I had a job for the winter, and didn't have to spend Christmas at home in the freezing rain. Thank you Geology Gods. More of that later.). Solomon the Beard mentally prepares himself for the flight to Fang. Flo looks confused as he thinks he can smell garlic in the cabin. Anyway, time to sh...
