Trust in Labour’s future. May 21, 2009 @ 12:07 am. 183; { Dear Grandad. I know that part of the reason you felt betrayed by the MPs who bent or broke the rules on expenses is that you felt they were not only ripping off the taxpayer, but ripping off the people who work so hard to campaign for Labour without expecting any financial gain. The good news is, (some of! Today’s activists are tomorrow’s politicians – and they feel the same way you do: read this post. Have signed up to the following pledge:.

Good PR? | Project Grandad

June 5, 2009 @ 9:33 pm. 183; { Grandad speaks! Whoever comes up with changes to stop the greed we’ve seen from both bankers and politicians, whether it’s Brown or Cameron: something’s got to be seen to be done. It seems as if the two-party state has got to be changed, so Proportional Representation might not be a bad idea. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Primary concern | Project Grandad

May 24, 2009 @ 11:05 am. 183; { Dear Grandad. Hope you’re having a good Sunday! I wanted to get your opinion on a couple of things. One of the questions in the survey is whether you would like to see open primaries for Labour candidates – this is like the American system where anyone in a constituency can take part in selecting a Party’s local candidate. David Cameron announced today. What do you think? Do you think Labour should introduce something like this as well? 1 Comment ». 183; { TrackBack. Hello...

Vote Labour for equality. May 22, 2009 @ 1:15 am. 183; { Dear Grandad. For me one of the most disappointing things about the MPs’ expenses scandal is the way it has obscured what I think could be one of Labour’s greatest achievements. I’ve written before on my blog. Meanwhile the Bill does include other measures to prevent people being subject to discrimination because of their age – not only in employment but in healthcare and social care, and in services like insurance. A hard job made harder. May 22, 2009 @ 6:46 pm. 183; { Grandad speaks! It’s you and people on the ground who I feel sorry for. Trying to convince people to vote Labour in the current economic climate is hard enough, but now, with Labour MPs and their fiddled expenses, the job is almost impossible. The only way forward is to de-select the fiddling MPs. Good luck with “Project Grandad”. 1 Comment ». On May 22, 2009 at 9:18 pm. Feed for comments on this post. 183; { TrackBack. Grandad’s letter to his MP | Project Grandad

Grandad’s letter to his MP. May 20, 2009 @ 6:47 am. 183; { Grandad speaks! I am seventy-one years old and have been a Labour supporter all my life, but after this latest farce with MPs’ expenses, I will never vote again. I always thought it was Tories, bosses and bank executives who fiddled at the expense of ordinary working people, but now we find that the Labour MPs we elected have also got their noses in the trough. 3 Comments ». Welcome to Project Grandad. May 20, 2009 @ 1:49 am. 183; { Intro. Hello, I’m Grace, I usually blog here. Yesterday my 71-year-old Grandad, who has been a Labour voter all his life, decided in response to the MPs’ expenses revelations that he wasn’t going to vote again. It might not sound like a big deal, but my Grandad is the reason I got into politics, and – more importantly – he represents a core of Labour voters we just can’t afford to turn our backs on.
