August 2013 | Tin Can Cabin

http://www.tincancabin.com/2013/08

Building a Shipping Container Cabin. Monthly Archives: August 2013. The second phase of my power system was completed this past weekend. It’s a 190 watt ET Solar panel on a DIY adjustable ground mount feeding into a Morningstar SunSaver MPPT charge controller. This new panel increases my total solar capacity to 318 watts. While it might not seem like much, I’m actually wondering how I’m going to use all that power. Continue reading →. This entry was posted in Power. August 1, 2013. On The Floor Dilemma.

Ceiling Trim | Tin Can Cabin

Building a Shipping Container Cabin. Was much easier than I thought it would be – almost like cutting heavy poster board with scissors. For convenience sake I painted the tabs before I put them in place, although I’m sure they could have been painted afterwards as well. I affixed the tabs to the drywall using Loctite Spray Adhesive. The Finished Foundation | Tin Can Cabin

http://www.tincancabin.com/2010/08/the-finished-foundation

Building a Shipping Container Cabin. I wasn’t able to be there when they poured the concrete for the walls, so I only have pictures of the finished product. I’m usually a little worried when I’m not there to supervise, but everything worked out OK. I had come this day to lay down landscape fabric and stone around the foundation. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a mistake. Here’s a view to the southwest. This entry was posted in Construction. August 16, 2010. The Containers Arrive →. I would think at ...

Minimum Stuff and Maximum Life. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Ok So I decided to start a blog because I figured this could come in handy as time goes on. Not sure what to say right now, maybe just a bit about myself for now. I am a single mother (not looking) with a preschool age child and I am attending college, so things are a bit hectic and right now I'm avoiding my homework. hopefully my teachers do not read this. Minimum Stuff and Maximum Life. Thursday, September 23, 2010. The Smallest Family House. So I really got to thinking about what is the least amount of space I could use for building a tiny house on wheels and this is what I came up with. Minimum Stuff and Maximum Life: The Weight of the Matter (Part 1)

http://ministuffandmaxilife.blogspot.com/2010/09/weight-of-matter-part-1.html

Minimum Stuff and Maximum Life. Thursday, September 23, 2010. The Weight of the Matter (Part 1). Thin wood panel for walls, such as a beadboard or wainscoting. I know we all think of the hideous wooden walls that looked like fake wood paneling, but some of these can look really nice and you can find boards that are completely flat and paintable. On the note of eliminating lumber it could be possible to make the kitchen area out of plexiglass which can come in various colors other than clear. Another idea...

Hola gente, acá vamos con la segunda parte de ésta entrega sobre alternativas al saneamiento convencional. Lo primero que yo hago cuando agarro un libro de estudio es leer el índice. Un buen índice da una clara idea del contenido, y ayuda a saber si vamos a encontrar algo que nos interesa o no. Sharing and Learning about vintage campers, which I have fallen in love with. Saturday, October 01, 2011. Trip to South Carolina. We are true campers! We took our Duckling from the flat lands of Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, and then the mountains of Tennessee to land softly in Greenville, S.Carolina! I did not drive, but my husband did a great job, even while trying to not complain when he had to stop every. 3 1/2 hrs to get gas. He was pretty happy with 13 miles to the gallon though.
