ETA: 12 1/2 inch block - 12 inch finished block. Pattern is from www.piecebynumber.com. I washed all the fabric I'm sending so don't use anything else (let me know if you need more). Saturday, May 19, 2012. May Blocks for LeeAnn. I've been wondering for a while why I had these greens in my stash - now I know! So I could make your blocks for this swap. They are really lime green, not Christmas green that they look in this post. I think this quilt is going to be amazing. Can't wait to see this one proceed. Mary on Lake Pulaski. Sunday, May 13, 2012. HST's in Raspberry and Lime. These were so fun and delicious to make! This is a new color combination for me, and I really love it. HSTs i...

Two's Company Quilt Bee: February 2012
http://twoscompanyquiltbee.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Red Geese for Jackie. Thanks to Jackie's great instructions, these were fun! Bear's Paw for Mary B in March. A little switch from the reds for March! For my block, I'm looking for blues. I think the bear's paw is one of my favorite patterns- something about a big, mean bear translated into a soft, comfy quilt, which, when it's done, you can say is a "bear hug" when it's wrapped around you. The block is a pattern from the terrific 501 Rotary Cut Blocks. Also, March is my mont...

Two's Company Quilt Bee: Peppermint Stick for Andrea
http://twoscompanyquiltbee.blogspot.com/2012/07/peppermint-stick-for-andrea.html
Thursday, July 12, 2012. Peppermint Stick for Andrea. I finished my Peppermint Stick and signature blocks for Andrea while I was on retreat at Gruber's with my prized blogging friends. Not as fun as Amanda Jean's.But I didn't have that many bright, clear reds, surprisingly. I found that I have a tendency more toward the brick reds. So, I found these two great reds at Gruber's. They are on their way to you! LOL But that's just me. Your tutorial was awesome. Once I got the hang of it, I was okay. Peas In A...

Kerrie Robertson Illustration: October 2009

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Pay it Forward…. I signed up for “Pay it Forward” over on Tinkerfrog's. Blog yesterday—and I'm excited to see what she comes up with, being such a wonderful quilter. What is “Pay it Forward,” you ask? You have 365 days to create your item, but I'm sure it's a lot more fun if the projects get completed a lot sooner than that. I hope some people play and enjoy their new creations. Labels: Illustration of a different type. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Create Your Own Avatar….

Thrifty, Crafty, Fun: The Scrappy Rambler
http://thriftycraftyfun-karen.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-scrappy-rambler.html
Thrifty, Crafty, Fun. Saturday, May 31, 2014. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to sew my block. The center piece is a label from a pair of pajama pants I acquired in either high school or college. I still have the pants, and the little bag (I use it as a tiny pillowcase). I saved the label because I loved the fun, retro look of it. Sometimes (often) I will save things for years until I find the perfect use for them (my husband loves this, no he does not). Mr Paws says, "Are you finished? June 9, 2014 at...

seaschell: July 2013

Monday, July 15, 2013. Tutorial: embroidered quilt labels. Labeling your finished quilt is very important. It identifies you as the maker and gives details that you might not be able to remember after you've made many! Plus, who knows where that quilt will be in 100 years. I've seen enough vintage quilts to know how great it would be if I knew the stories behind them. Freezer paper to fit. Scrap paper and pencil (or computer and printer). Embroidery hoop (mine is 7 inches). 3 Using the scrap paper and pe...
