Noir Writer: My Life of Crime
http://noirwriter.blogspot.com/2008/01/my-life-of-crime.html
This is a blog. Sunday, January 20, 2008. My Life of Crime. Before Rickard's Mystery Circus. My Life of Crime. Then she went on about how I must have been switched at birth, something about the sign of the anti-Christ and then she fell down weeping. The easy answer is: I don’t know. But then this little essay would be really short and no one would receive any insight, especially myself. I guess I have to do a little digging to get to the answer. But wait, put that spoon down. Testosterone may play a part...

Noir Writer: Entertainment Weekly's Top 50 Working Directors, part 2
http://noirwriter.blogspot.com/2010/04/entertainment-weeklys-top-50-working.html
This is a blog. Sunday, April 18, 2010. Entertainment Weekly's Top 50 Working Directors, part 2. Yeah, I'm really bad at posting to this thing. But since the last post was a commentary on the first half of EW's list of top directors, which at the time stopped at #26, I thought I would at least finish what I started. Plus, I need some distance away from the current completed (at least the first draft) short story, so what better way to technically write and waste time? A true auteur in an age of Brett Rat...

Noir Writer: Exhaustion
http://noirwriter.blogspot.com/2012/07/exhaustion.html
This is a blog. Sunday, July 22, 2012. But alas, I must do all of that work myself. No wonder so many people fail to write anything. Failure is a more likely outcome than success. My eyelids, heavy from working or picking up the house, really want to shut. My back would like me to hit the bed. My brain wants nothing more than to shut itself off. So, again, why do it? Maybe I'm just tired? Sunday, July 22, 2012. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. John R. Corrigan. Mystery Circus...

Contemporary British Crime Writing—Part 1 | AshEdit—News About Books & Writers
https://ashedit.wordpress.com/2011/08/07/contemporary-british-crime-writing—part-1
AshEdit News About Books and Writers. August 7, 2011. Contemporary British Crime Writing Part 1. 8212; ashedit @ 3:07 pm. The Carmen Miranda look-a-likey walks into the bar shouting, Okay, where’s my friggin’ pet iguana. No joke. That’s how this sorry tale starts. I felt a paw on my shoulder. A gorilla towered over me; a threatening bulge under his jacket where a bulge shouldn’t be. The gorilla leaned in. I smelt bad breath and cheap aftershave. Heard, Backroom. Now! You owe me, Valentine, Pork Pie’s voi...

Joy of Reading: February 2012
http://joyofreadingbyrick.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts on books, writers, readers, and the places they meet. Thursday, February 23, 2012. Look who I saw at SCWC*SD26. I Am So Busted. The number one rule in every book, every online article, every podcast I've saved to my smartphone playlist, and every Romance Writers of America National Conference workshop I've ever listened to on the topic of blogging is the same: content is king. Posts to a blog need to be timely. And make plans to join us next year (or this September in Newport Beach! Prior to the...

Oscar Case Draws ‘Em Like He Sees ‘Em | AshEdit—News About Books & Writers
https://ashedit.wordpress.com/2015/03/13/oscar-case-draws-em-like-he-sees-em
AshEdit News About Books and Writers. March 13, 2015. Oscar Case Draws ‘Em Like He Sees ‘Em. 8212; ashedit @ 3:54 am. I’ve known Oscar Case. OSCAR CASE: The people who were my greatest influence were my high school art teacher and a teen-aged friend up the street. The teacher encouraged me to practice and practice, but the kid up the street showed me how. He could draw about anything and do a great job. He was a natural artist. I wonder whatever became of him? I post most of it on my blog. Jack, I’...

Manfiction - stadies
http://stadiestxmw.livejournal.com/713.html
October 23rd, 2009. In the publication universe, it Holds a well-known fact that most mystery/thriller readers are women. Yet, there are some writers whose penning attracts more handses than women. In a 2008 article ` Chick lit vs. Manfiction. Stephen Rex nicknamed this type of thriller - ` manfiction ' - and named the like Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Richard Stark, and Lee Tyke as the best manfiction authors today. I recently advocated a Lee Minor book to a male co-worker, and he loved it!
