Kihap with the shout is a training method to develop "Ki" so in the hard style of Taekwondo you have the "soft" training methods of both Chumbi Seogi and Kihap in our training. There are some different usages associated with Kihap where the shout is a concequense and not the act itself:. Kihap as a method of maximum powergeneration.

Why do we call a mountain block a mountain block and not something else? It does not look like a mountain at all does it? To philosophical realizations occuring in Your mind when your Korean teacher insists that you use the word "Suryon" for training because "Suryon" better explain what we are trying to achieve if you look at the meaning behind the wor...

Traditional Taekwondo Ramblings: Religion and Taekwondo
http://jungdokwan-taekwondo.blogspot.com/2012/01/religion-and-taekwondo.html
Thursday, 12 January 2012. This is a little special post. You see there is one problem that I think should be adressed. I once had a girl watching one of my training sessions at the Dojang I study (and teach). She seemed very interested in Taekwondo so I offered her one week of free lessons to see if she liked the training. My mother is very religious so she would never let me start practising Taekwondo". Are all people who practise Taekwondo bad (insert your religious belief here) or are we all pagans?

One of the things I found interesting in the book was things that was covered that was about how to apply Karate (and which applies very much to Taekwondo too). Look at this quote from Nagamine:. The Secret was that when a small man faces an opponent,. Here we...
