The central arch had two pillars on either side, which had vines wrapped around them, winding their way up to the parapet of the terrace. On either side, bushes had grown as tall as trees, and prevented the sunlight from entering. Outside and inside were therefore totally different worlds. One was wilderness, the other was a dungeon.
