Arts Center of Tolland. Tolland, CT 06084. Arts of Tolland (AOT) was founded in 1973 to supplement fine arts programming in the local school system. Our mission has remained the same, to provide a spectrum of artistic and cultural experiences for people of all ages, races, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Building constructed in 1879 as the Tolland Town Hall. Served as Town Hall until 1985. Renovated by Arts of Tolland 1995-1997, through volunteer efforts and fundraising events.

Arts of Tolland’s 13th Annual Open Juried Art Show was a huge success! AOT awarded over $1500 in prizes to talented artists from all over New England. Congratulations to all of them, and to all of the other artists who submitted such wonderful paintings. See you all next year! Check our website in late January 2017 for our 14th annual show. 2016 Juried Art Show Award Winners. 2015 Best of Show: The Walk Was Long by Ethel Engler. Each artist exhibits his or her work for a month at a time, and the Arts Center gallery is open from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and from 2 to 5 pm on Wednesdays in May, June, September, October, and November. Arts of Tolland is pleased to offer Brandywine Woodcraft miniatures of the Arts Center of Tolland. At 45 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide, the Arts Center miniature is beautifully detailed and features the 1879 Center amidst a garden of springtime flowers. The price is $20. Sketch of the 29th. William Webb, An African American Civil War Soldier from Connecticut. William Webb married Augusta E. Madison of Ellington, on March 12, 1864. They were married in New Haven before the 29. Left the state. Augusta and William had no children. William passed away in 1868. Augusta died at the age of 19 on April 3, 1868.
