Note loudspeakers on minaret which broadcast calls to prayer five times daily. Church of St. John with Crusader flag. Getting the dirty dishes organized with 20 bowls in the stack. . Tom and Susan's Journey December 6-17, 2009. Friday, January 8, 2010. Monday December 7: Kibbutz Lavi Hotel. Entrance sign to Hotel Lavi. Hotel logo. Not your typical Lion of Judah. A mezuzah was attached outside the door of our room everywhere we stayed in Israel. Inside is a scroll with Deut 6:4-9 and 11:13-21. It is a sign and reminder of their faith. It was late afternoon when we arrived and after dinner we enjoyed a presentation on Kibbutz living from one of the residents. Monday December 7: Akko.
