At school as a senior, Tom focused on English Literature, and graduated from Willow Glen High School in 1965. By this time Tom was playing guitar piano and banjo. He used guitar and piano for his recordings but early memories are of him playing a banjo. He was a huge fan of the Kingston Trio in the 60s, and began his interest in music by writing and singing in the folk song genre. At home in San Jose he would sing the folk songs popular at the time. In the Sierra Mountains getting ready to go back about 4-5 hours into the mountains for some camping and fishing. The date on the back of the photo is August, 1966. Art had this photograph on his wall for many years, so it is very faded. The mountains in the background are where Tom's ashes are laid to rest. Tom and his father camping in the Sierras, probably in late 70's.
