A Technologist's Babble: Electric Powered Dragsters

http://tomstechbabble.blogspot.com/2007/07/electric-powered-dragsters.html

My babblings on a variety of topics, Mostly with a technology slant. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Electric powered vehicles are starting to make a dent in the lower and mid tiers of racing. This article mentions a motorcycle powered by lithium ion batteries with a 0-60 time of 1 second. The technology is feasible now, so here's hoping that by the time I need my next car in a few years, there will be a true plug in Electric or dual fuel that supports plug-in electric car available. My babblings on a variety of topics, Mostly with a technology slant. Monday, June 25, 2007. Bio Reactive Generator turns trash to electricity. Researchers at Purdue university have built a bioreactive generator that takes in trash and produces electricity. The US Army is interested because it can both reduce the trash generated in field ops and can provide the electricity needed to run critical equipment. Links to this post. Wednesday, June 20, 2007. My babblings on a variety of topics, Mostly with a technology slant. Friday, June 23, 2006. My New PC: Optical Drive. OK, the Optical Drive selection was an afterthought, and so is this post. I wasn't even sure I was going to go with an optical drive, because I already have a DVD reader in the old PC, and I have an USB Plextor DVD writer. So it's not critical. Links to this post. A Technologist's Babble: Sensible Hybrid and GM -- not an oxymoron

http://tomstechbabble.blogspot.com/2008/01/sensible-hybrid-and-gm-not-oxymoron.html

My babblings on a variety of topics, Mostly with a technology slant. Friday, January 11, 2008. Sensible Hybrid and GM - not an oxymoron. IS being shown at the detroit auto show, and is promised to be a production car. The availability has not been worked out, due to the need to select the supplier for it's lithium ion batteries. The Volt looks like a very pragmatic compromise. Depending on your commute length, the Volt is either a Electric Vehicle or a Hybrid Vehicle. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thomas Nield

Random thoughts about programming, business technology, and other musings. Sunday, December 11, 2016. About a week ago, I ordered and received the System76 Kudu laptop. Here is my review after six days of use. The System76 Kudu, a 17.3 inch laptop. Is a relatively young computer brand that differentiates itself by making high-quality laptops installed with Ubuntu. Not to mention, the drivers hacked together in the linux-surface. Package felt fine at first, but broke down and froze my machine over time.
