Hawk Ace Build Log. Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Time spent rewiring front indicators and all rear lights, fitting the grab handle and a right hand handbrake. This allows the driver’s seat to be positioned closer to the tunnel, and further from the hood frame location which threatened to wear the leather. There’s plenty of room for the handbrake to the right of the seat, though the connection to the cable will need a bit of ingenuity. Where have the last two months gone? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Hawk Ace Build Log. Sunday, 6 July 2014. The brake master cylinders have now been ‘bench bled’ (though without removing them), and the feel is much better. I’ve dispensed with the three individual fluid reservoirs. They were prone to leakage and made access to the master cylinders difficult. In addition I've weighed, or researched, or estimated weights of other components, all shown in the following two tables:. Engine, Rover V8. Powerlite starter, tubular manifolds; no power steering pump (detail see Table B). Weighed a similar type. LT77, weighed, w/o gearshift. Axle , MGB Salisbury type. 55J x15, 72 spoke; MWS data. The kits comes with all the pipes and auxiliaries to fit, including a remote oil filter fitting. It was straightforward to fix on the most part. The most difficult part was running the pipes without twisting them and so restricting the flow. They certainly did not want to rotate which is needed to align the fittings. I figured I could measure the space available once fitted which may determine where the fans go, on the front or backside of the rad! I had previously fitted the brackets to the rad, now I just needed to align in the car and bolt to the body. This was straightforward after I had wedged it in the location I wanted with various bits of wood!
