Parsha Questions: March 2007
http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Wednesday, March 28, 2007. In 8:36 it tells us that Aharon and his sons did as Hashem commanded through Moshe. Rashi tells us that this tells us the praise of Aharon and sons that they did not divert at all from what Hashem told them to do. Everything was followed precisely. Why does the Torah have to keep telling us this? Thursday, March 8, 2007. Had he r...

Parsha Questions: February 2007
http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Sunday, February 18, 2007. This week's shabbos table question on the parsha was (drum roll please.):. When the Torah describes the three holidays, it does not call them by their main names, rather it calls them by alternative names. Hag Hamatzot, Hag Ha'Katzir, Hag Ha'Asif. Why? Why not call them by Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot? Sunday, February 11, 2007.

I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Thursday, March 8, 2007. What would you do? This weeks question for the shabbos table might be:. When Aharion helped them create the golden calf, even though he tried to delay, did he do the right thing or should he have refused? He definitely should have refused I thought it is mentioned that it was wrong. March 8, 2007 at 5:17 PM. By aoc power leveling.

I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Saturday, May 26, 2007. Naso: not getting out of hand. The last section of the parsha. Goes through the donation of korbanot. Gave at the dedication of the mishkan. All 12 gave the same exact donation. Tells us why the nesiim. Left for the mesiim. To give. They were upset they missed the opportunity. To participate, so now they jumped forward right away.

Yontiff Thoughts: May 2007
http://yomtovthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Ruth: Strength of Charachter. I always thought of Ruth as a mousy woman, with little personality. She kind of just got through everything quietly, albeit with great determination. She sort of sneaks through the story of the megilla, as a secondary charachter, which is funny considering the megilla goes by her name. But that was always my impression when reading Megillat Ruth. By no way could she possibly be timid, mousey, or non-descript. Not coming from where she came from. What i...

Yontiff Thoughts: from rag to riches
http://yomtovthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/05/from-rag-to-riches.html
Tuesday, May 1, 2007. From rag to riches. What is the significance of this sacrifice, the "Two Loaves" being made from chametz, unlike almost every other korban? This offering, the שתי הלחם, is brought at the conclusion of the omer. The Omer count began on Pesach and concludes on Shavuos. In a sense, the Omer is the bridge between Pesach and Shavuos. To symbolize this we offer the rare sacrifice with חמץ - the opposite of poor man's bread. This is the bread of the free and the wealthy. The un-opp...
