Torts and Tarts

Monday, July 19, 2010. Is there ever enough? This year, we have added hurtles of activities for both C1 and C2 and a commitment from me to get my butt to the gym 6 days a week. I have a feeling the mornings are going to start getting earlier and earlier as the boys get older. Kids have been sick the past few days. Combine that with some rain and hellacious cabin fever and you have one crabby mom. I'm hoping to mainline the caffeine today and hope that helps a bit. Monday, June 28, 2010. This house. I...

Torts and Tarts: Hello? Is this thing on?

http://tortstarts.blogspot.com/2010/06/hello-is-this-thing-on.html

Thursday, June 24, 2010. Is this thing on? Sowe haven't dropped off the face of the planet, I just questioned whether or not anybody would actually want to read the things I post here. After much reflection (like 8 months worth! I decided that my kids are just too cute and funny not to share with the world. Like it or not, they are here to stay! Where to begin on what has been happening since I last posted. Let's get you up to date with a few photos! Carved pumpkins. Hubs is a master carver! Hubs was so ...

Torts and Tarts: I left my baby.

http://tortstarts.blogspot.com/2009/09/i-left-my-baby.html

Sunday, September 13, 2009. I left my baby. Okay Silly metaphor over. Alex planned a wonderful date for us on Saturday. I was so excited. Finally a time when I could wear heels. The last time I wore heels, I had to chase Calvin and ended up breaking my heel and almost smashing my face into a building in the process. Needless to say, I've been cautious. The date served as a catalyst for many things - the most important of which being the reconnection between my husband and I. September 13, 2009 at 7:37 PM.

Torts and Tarts: The heaviest of hearts

http://tortstarts.blogspot.com/2010/06/heaviest-of-hearts.html

Monday, June 28, 2010. The heaviest of hearts. I feel like such a failure. Alex and I have known for a while now that C1 exhibited all of the classic symptoms of ADHD.why we didn't act on it faster, I will never know.but I do know that I feel like such a failure because we didn't. I feel like we failed to do what is best for our son and because of that, made things harder for everyone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Writing, Cooking and Dishwashing Mama. Torts and Tarts: The Keeper of My Heart

http://tortstarts.blogspot.com/2009/09/keeper-of-my-heart.html

Friday, September 25, 2009. The Keeper of My Heart. We have been together for 1,576 days. If I was better at math, I could have figured that out without using a calculator. Don't even ask for a breakdown of the years and months. Ain't. Gonna. Happen. We've said terrible things. Hurtful things. There have been times that I saw nothing of the man that I once married. I carried all of those times with me, little wounds in my soul. I've always known I was blessed. My children are proof that we are made i...

Baby Wallace Blog: Good from Bad

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/01/good-from-bad.html

Sunday, January 17, 2010. Now is where we start to move forward. Though the bad is still there, now is the time to talk about the good surrounding it. On Monday, my Dad's services were held at Delhomme funeral home. Between the Sunday visitation and Monday services, I know that at least 400-500 people came through. Now, after making a list of everyone we can remember being here, our final guest count was 125 people. And that was basically all in our living room, kitchen and patio. We went through so much...

Baby Wallace Blog: Love You, Poppy!

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/01/this-is-officially-hardest-post-ive.html

Sunday, January 10, 2010. Love You, Poppy! This is officially the hardest post I've ever made. After making progress toward getting better, my Dad passed away late Thursday. There's not really much else to say. We've all suffered a loss, but what saddens me the most is that my Mom has lost her best friend and that Riley has lost one of his. I can't think of much to write so I'm just going to go pic heavy. Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the services. In lieu...

Baby Wallace Blog: Un Thirdo de Ano

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/09/un-thirdo-de-ano.html

Monday, September 6, 2010. Un Thirdo de Ano. Sooooo, it's been over 4 months since I posted. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the hole that absence must have left in your life. The dry spell is not due to a lack of happenings, but more so to an over-abundance (real word? I won't bore you with all of the details, but here's your dose of catchin' up. We can't afford this kid's memory. It is a very well made, fun piece of equipment. Bout that same time too, Uncle Eli graduated from UL. I wonder if O...

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Wishing You all the Worst , Kid! So, dearest followers, a post here means that our desktop pc is back up and running, thanks to the skills of Paul and some scavenged Frankenstein parts (Thank you, Aunt Connie! Below this pos,t you should find a make up post from last week. Sorry, no sets of twin models). The week was pretty slow. We spent a couple of evenings finishing up our entertainment center, which came out awesome. Saturday, we headed to the Cajundome for Riley's first st...

Baby Wallace Blog: Last Week (if now was a week ago)

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/02/last-week-if-now-was-week-ago.html

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Last Week (if now was a week ago). As stated above, this is a make up post. I promise you, if i had been able to do it on time, it would have been great, but with the passage of a week, my memories of good one liners have faded and now you're stuck with this. So (assuming the tense of presently being in the past) it was Mardi Gras week, a week I used to really like when I was a kid. Last year she could walk well and he couldn't, so their interaction was limited. As usual, these...

Baby Wallace Blog: One Down

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2011/01/one-down.html

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Last week you saw photos of a baby all covered in biological gunk. A baby we were surprised to see so soon. This week you'll see a baby not covered in biological gunk and a baby we aren't surprised to see. This will be a long one with lots of pictures (thats what she said? Part I- The Incarceration. In addition to having a mass of dark hair, Avery was also a few rhinestones and some yellow polish away from being a star cashier at WalMart. Her mommy fixed that real quick like.

Baby Wallace Blog: Number 2 Makes Number 1

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2012/01/number-2-makes-number-1.html

Monday, January 23, 2012. Number 2 Makes Number 1. So, I did it. I managed to go six months without writing about our kids. There's just not room in the schedule to sit down for 2 hours on a Sunday and write something worth reading. (especially when you did almost the same thing three years earlier while balancing only half of the responsibilities). I also blame Paul, because he always has his camera out when here, so we don't take as many pics, which were always my cheatsheet to blogging. Then a quick p...

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/04/just-like-babs-brett-cher.html

Sunday, April 4, 2010. Just Like Babs and Brett, Cher. 2 years and 5 months ago, I created a dinky layout on Blogger, posted the news that Joan was pregnant with our first gender unknown (at the time) child, and mailed the link to a handful of family and friends. Back then, he/she/it looked like this. Since then, I've logged on 173 times to write about our life. Sometimes we were at the beach, and sometimes we were in a bad dream that we'll never wake up from, but we always had pictures. It started getti...

Baby Wallace Blog: Goodnight NOLA

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/05/goodnight-nola.html

Saturday, May 1, 2010. As you all know, we're nerds. You also know, if you are a regular, that we've kinda become semi-photo geeks since we bought our dSLR last year. That hint of a hobby, combined with trying to raise a literate toddler, sparked an idea for a little photo project that I'll share with you today. Fortunately, from this crap on a page, a Louisiana author had the idea to do a New Orleans themed version, but less crappy. It's like Goodnight Moon, but good. Now to why this is relevant here.

Baby Wallace Blog: Life Support

http://cajunbabywallace.blogspot.com/2010/01/life-support.html

Sunday, January 3, 2010. Nothing clever, witty or funny about this week's title. My Dad had his scheduled heart surgery on Wednesday. They tried to repair the valve but were unable, so they had to replace it. The surgery itself was generally ok. Unfortunately, he did have some internal bleeding that required another surgery on Thursday. Since the first surgery, his oxygen levels are staying lower than they should be and his lungs just aren't taking back over like they should. Playing the Rock Band drums.

A day in the life of a fat, yellow cat. Monday, September 24, 2007. Posted by onemotherslove @ 1:21 PM 1 comments. Thursday, August 09, 2007. There has been some wondering lately what Tort has been doing since we moved. It's basically sleep, eat, use the litter box, repeat. If the food or water runs out, then he wanders around the house making a nuisance. Here, he has nestled himself in Mom's boppy. The other cats are doing pretty much the same thing. Tabi. Fluff doing more of the same. Here she is eatin...

Torts Reform | Playing the right way since 2013.

Playing the right way since 2013. The Freewheelin’ Rick Nash. July 20, 2013. In the summer of 2012, the Rangers were coming off their most successful season since Ace of Base was relevant: they had reached the Eastern Conference Finals before losing in six heartbreaking games to the Hoboken Devils. On July 23rd 2012, when news broke that the Rangers had traded for Rick Nash, most Ranger fans (including Torts Reform’s very own Dave) were ecstatic about the trade. Continue reading →. Sunday, July 22, 2012. Out From the Depths of the Dental School World. I’m almost there. Just one week of school left. And did I mention I’m now treating REAL patients? In other words, my former patient, Manny Kin (get it? Haha), has been relieved of me and will have a new student doctor come late August. Apparently, I’m moving on up in the dental world. ;). Torts to Tarts

Monday, January 14, 2013. I really haven’t felt like baking much at all lately. I have baked exactly one time in the past three weeks. That is shocking right? Considering that Christmas with all the special, one-time-a-year holiday delights and recipes were ripe for the baking, I baked none. I have been looking introspectively and asking myself “Why don’t you feel like baking, Baker at Law? And I have no answer. I do not feel like doing something I really love to do. So, I am taking a little baking break.
