http://damiensqueerworld.blogspot.com/2015/08/god-bless-america.html
It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Monday, August 10, 2015. California’s San Diego County Fair in June included the debut of the deep-fried Slim-Fast bar. A 200-calorie “diet bar” is breaded in pancake batter, fried, dusted with powdered sugar, and drizzled with chocolate. The process adds about 500 calories to the Slim-Fast Chocolate Chewy Bar. I am not making that up. August 10, 2015 at 4:02 PM. You may be giving someone the idea for a Deep Fried Double Slim Fast Shake. Why isnt thi...

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Michael and Daniel both reminded me that today is International Friendship Day. Which means it is an international observance of friendship, not that it is a celebration limited to friends who come from different nations. Although I do appreciate my friends from places beyond the shores of the US of A. At any rate, here's to all of you! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away.

Damien's Queer World: April 2015
http://damiensqueerworld.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. And this may be the queerest thing in all our queer world. Also called my side bias. Biased search, interpretation and memory have been invoked to explain attitude polarization (when a disagreement becomes more extreme even though the different parties are exposed to the same evidence), belief perseverance (when beliefs persist after the evidence for them is shown to be false), the irrational primacy effect (a greater relia...

http://damiensqueerworld.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. A friend recently lost an earring and emailed that she thought she might have dropped it at our apartment when she had come over for some computer help. When I told her we would keep an eye out for it, I suggested she try the Catholic trick of praying to Saint Anthony. "Just say, 'St. Anthony, help me find my earring,'" I suggested jokingly. I found your earring.". Cue The Twilight Zone. Was a Portuguese Catholic priest an...

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Whatever. Daniel and I are heading north to spend a few days with friends in Wisconsin. When we return, I will have to get serious about final preparation for the fall term at PPHU. I hope you are getting a break from your usual haunts! August 14, 2015 at 7:35 PM. Today I literally wrote a prescription for a patient stating she has to take a week off each year for healths sake. Madness! The USAs mentality about time off!

Damien's Queer World: July 2015

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack. Friday, July 31, 2015. Or maybe just cutting down to size . Ignatius is noted for his seriousness. Philip Neri was noted for his sense of humor. My favorite story/legend about the two of them recounts an encounter they had when both were in Rome.
