Craig and Day's 2007 Travels in IRV. Sunday, February 11, 2007. We were planning on a mid-Saturday departure but actually started by 09:50 Sunday. As unbelievable as it seems we found no construction on I-80/I-94 and zipped right through trying to get out of the cold weather and miss the forecasted snow. We made it as far as a rest area on the Kentucky-Tennessee border at 20:09 where we parked between two trucks that kept their engines running all night (we kept the furnace running all night).

2004 Log - Cruising. 2004 Log - Racing. May 14 to May 31, 2008 - Harbor Vue Marina. Time to start working on Toucan. We loaded Irv with boat stuff and took off for Canada. With Irv we have discovered that we get much better mileage at 55 mph and since the route through Wisconsin, while slower, is 50 miles shorter, we went north, stopping once again in Menominee, across the river from the Nest Egg Marina.

Craig and Day's Website. Were we wrong even back in '74. There were a bunch of 30 to 40 footers down there. Not one to gather any moss, we moved back to Chicago. Fortunately (? We found Toucan, a Catalina 380, at the Racine in-the-water boat show. We weren't sure so we went to the Michigan City in-the-water boat show. Indecisive, we went back and went for a sail the next weekend and wrote a check. We raced her a little but took our cruising seriously. Some details on Toucan follow:. 4 cylinder 42 HP.

September 16, 2009 - On the hard. The 15th we moved over into the well, unloaded, moved Irv and took the mast down. First thing in the morning, we were hauled and Toucan was placed for the winter where Irv spent the summer.
