Section across a plant stem- cells get denser as they reach the outer layer. Section across a tree trunk- showing annual rings. Cells are bigger, less dense in the summer months. Unit 9- Maggie Hoi Kei Lo. Monday, 23 November 2009. Prefab case study- Eames House. A 60 metre long retaining wall extending along the hill acts as support so that the view at the front of the house is unobstructed. Investigating the mat-ability of the scheme. The making of architecture is an act of organized chaos. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Urban field - testing the layering system on 1:500 scale. As we studied in the previus tests the module from plan seems be always the same pattern. Althought in plan the module is the same as the 2d pattern in the 3d axo the system starts generate different spaces which affect the elevation of each side of the module.
