Lyn Belisle: My Mythologie: Beautiful Afternoon at the Workshop
http://mythlyn.blogspot.com/2012/11/beautiful-afternoon-at-workshop.html
Sunday, November 4, 2012. Beautiful Afternoon at the Workshop. The studio positively glowed with creative energy today - six art teachers and artisans from south of San Antonio drove in for the Collage on Canvas workshop. I had met Becky and Sharon at Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard when I taught a journal workshop there earlier in the year, and they brought their friends and colleagues today to play. What a fun, talented group! San Antonio, Texas. View my complete profile. Blog is Moving - Come on along!

Lyn Belisle: My Mythologie: March 2012

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Back in the studio - new covers. With everything else that has been going on, I haven't had a good day's work on e-reader covers in a while. But today I got to work in the studio, finished and posted three (! New ones to my Etsy shop. I like them all - perhaps "Avril" is my favorite, but that keeps changing. Here they are. Tomorrow I'm going to make some little "Re-Coverie" journals using each one of these:. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Saturday, March 17, 2012. I'm back from a vis...

Saturday, November 26, 2011. Hyatt Show and Display. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Tonight I finished a dozen new Art-To-Wear shard "magnetic adornments." A friend saw these yesterday and said,"They are a combination of your collages and your shards! Yep I like the idea of the bar magnet on the back that keeps them secure on clothing without making holes. I'm taking them to the Hyatt Resort Art Faire on Friday - we'll see how they are received. Now, back to the kitchen to cook! 2-3 Granny Smith apples.

Lyn Belisle: My Mythologie: Look Quick!
http://mythlyn.blogspot.com/2012/11/look-quick.html
Saturday, November 3, 2012. It's a clean studio (in relative studio terms). It took a few hours, but I'm ready for tomorrow's workshop. Among the things I found were my lost bee stamp, my lost favorite face mold, a bunch of assorted beads, chopsticks, and a plastic elephant. And tons of clay dust and paper scraps. Switching from collage to clay really is a challenge! But I'm ready for my Collage on Canvas. Class tomorrow - yay! San Antonio, Texas. View my complete profile. Blog is Moving - Come on along!

Lyn Belisle: My Mythologie: January 2012

Sunday, January 29, 2012. Form and Space and Home. Look at this wonderful little card I made yesterday - it opens up to become a votive candle holder. It folds flat to fit in a envelope. I fund the pattern in a half-price book about garden cards (seed packets and markers) but this is a gem! It's made from one 9x12" sheet of construction paper with little round windows cut out for translucent paper. This card could be a present all by itself, especially with a little votive candle added. My friend Gina an...

Saturday, November 10, 2012. The Trinity Alumni Artisan Show. This is always an enjoyable event - it's not a particularly good "buying" group, but seeing former grads at the lovely Holt Center gardens is fun. Here's a short video of the show. It lasted just two hours and was held in conjunction with the Alumni Picnic. Some of my favorites from other artisans were Tina Barajas' clay Whistkulls and Cathy Geib's giant cow done in pastels. Lyn Belisle: My Mythologie: April 2012
http://mythlyn.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. Encanto No. 7 Sr. De Nagual. Notes from the Missouri Museum of Anthropology. The Otomi depend on their kin groups for survival; thus kinship is an important part of Otomi life. A variety of cutout figurines reflects the importance of familial relationships. Fertility and success of yearly crops are key to Otomi survival. Figurines representing seed spirits show the importance of agriculture as well as the benefits that come from nature. From my own book of Otomi Cutouts:. Thanks t...
