Tracking Tom's Progress

Friday, March 9, 2012. 9:23 PM tomorrow will be one year since Tom passed away from his courageous battle with lung cancer. It seems like yesterday. How can you spend 2/3 of your life with someone and then they're gone? People continue to say things will get easier. They have no idea. I don't believe they get easier. It's just that you just keep going because it's the only choice you have. I want him to come home. I don't want to do this anymore. It's just too hard. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. It seems ...

Tracking Tom's Progress

http://trackingtomsprogress.blogspot.com/2011/04/it-seems-to-strange-to-me-to-be.html

Saturday, April 23, 2011. It seems to strange to me to be updating the blog and not be able to tell you how Tom is doing. I received the following poem from a friend of mine a while ago and thought it was worth sharing with you. You can shed tears that he is gone. Or smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back to you. Or you can open your eyes and see all he left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him. Or can be full of the love you shared. Do you know why ...

Tracking Tom's Progress: October 2010

http://trackingtomsprogress.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 31, 2010. Today is the last day of October. Hard to believe the summer is over and we're faced with welcoming winter. Tom gets blood work on Tuesday. Thursday's Chemo treatments will be dependent on what his blood count is. Otherwise things are going as well as I suppose they can. I will continue to report on Tom's progress as he receives upcoming treatments. I wish I had more to report but this is a waiting game. If we could see the future. Would we change the path we chose. If there is ...

Tracking Tom's Progress: November 2010

http://trackingtomsprogress.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. To start this post I apologize for not updating the Blog routinely like I said I would. It's been very busy for me but no excuses. I will be more diligent in updating the Blog (and this time I mean it). Tom has had a couple of weeks off from treatment, which is really good, because these treatments have taken their toll on him. He's just beginning to feel better and on Thursday he starts in again. To help them to know that even if they don't get "the thing they had to have" the...

Tracking Tom's Progress: September 2010

http://trackingtomsprogress.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 30, 2010. For those of you reading the Blog I'm sure you're interested in what the Oncologist had to say today. What came as a complete shock to both of us is that evidently Tom had two tumors. At least that's what the Oncologist told us today. I'm not sure if we just don't ask the right questions or if the physicians aren't forthcoming with information they should be telling us. It's frustrating but how do we ask the right questions if we don't know what to ask? Not much to report.

Garfield Tracking Tools

6% Place Tracking Tools. Tracking change in one Pittsburgh neighborhood. 6% is the number, the tipping point. Studies have shown that a worker population with just 6% of creative workers can tip the balance towards a neighborhood that is thriving. cityLAB is testing this idea in Pittsburgh's Garfield. Neighborhood with the 6% Place. Our goal is to fill in the neighborhood's vacancies with creative workers who will both benefit from Garfield's existing amenities and invest in the neighborhood's future.
