Mosaics By Patrick: Mosaic Happieness
http://mosaicsbypatrick.blogspot.com/2013/09/mosaic-happieness.html
Thursday, September 19, 2013. I've been mosaicing again, and I'm happy. I find it to be relaxing and fulfilling. I'm still learning technique, but I'm having fun doing it. Here is a Christmas votive ready to be grouted. Several projects in different stages of completion: a Venetian mask, two Christmas votives, ornaments, and 3D flower. I spent some time this evening grouting two projects. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Subscribe To Mosaics by Patrick. Daily Life in Italy.

Mosaics By Patrick: March 2011
http://mosaicsbypatrick.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. We woke up to a beautiful sunny day in Ravenna. We are staying two nights at the Ostello Galletti Abbiosi. After a nice breakfast in the hotel, we headed out into the old city. Ravenna is a busy modern city that is slowly discovering its past. Since WWII it has begun to redisover its vast art treasures and the incomparable mosaics which have made it famous all over the world. The bell tower was built in the 9th or 10th century and is 38 meters high. The Duomo, completed in 1743.

Mosaics By Patrick: November 2010
http://mosaicsbypatrick.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 26, 2010. Last weekend I stumbled upon a mosaic artist displaying his work for a shopping mall art exhibit. I had intended to visit an art store nearby to stock up on some mosaic glass. They were closed (for lunch), so I ended up at the mall. Was great to talk to. He showed me his work, explained some of his techniques and gave me directions to find another mosaic supplier. Sunday, November 21, 2010. I will post pictures of these projects when they are completed. It has a lot of meaning ...

Mosaics By Patrick: April 2011
http://mosaicsbypatrick.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 17, 2011. I spent much of Sunday working on my newest mosaic project. With some color assistance from Katrina, its turning out to be a pretty cool mosaic. My essentials for working on a mosaic - drink (today it was Coca Cola, and remote control - I watched three movies and 5 episodes of Friends). Yes, thats a lot of television, but I'm not mindlessly watching - I'm mosaicing! Friday, April 15, 2011. I used black and red Tiffany mosaic glass with black grout on a simple IKEA mirror frame.

Mosaics By Patrick: December 2010

Monday, December 20, 2010. Mosaics in Positano Italy. I found these fabulous mosaics in front of the cathedral in Positano. . Sunday, December 19, 2010. I thought Pompeii had a lot of great mosaics until we visited Herculaneum. This smaller Roman city was also devastated by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius, but instead of being buried by ash, it was buried by 60 feet of molten mud. This molten mud kept the city of Herculaneum better preserved overall. From a Roman bathhouse. Another bathhouse floor mosaic.
