Travelling Coolie

Saturday, December 13, 2008. Back in The Coolie! Well, after 9 months, 35,000 air miles on 12 different flights (13 if you include the one I jumped out of! God knows how many road miles, 14 countries on 3 continants, endless adventures and misadventures and 1 earthquake, its all over, our freedom has been taken away. I have to say though, its good to be back. So far! Well, thats about it, its been fun. Watch this space for future trips. On one of our days we jumped on a bus to Stanley Market, which is ba...

Travelling Coolie: March 2008

http://travellingcoolie.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 15, 2008. The largest urban rainforest in the world. View from Christ de Redemer. You could go hang gliding off this, maybe next time! About a minute after that photo was taken a mist came in and it looked like the far mountain had dissapeared. If you zoom in on this youll see a climber about a third the way up. The view from the Sugar Loaf cable car. Sit on Ipenima or Copacobana watching womens beach vollyball games till Gra drags me away! Heading south to Ilha Grande in a couple of days...

Travelling Coolie: April 2008

http://travellingcoolie.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 28, 2008. Super Tanker Feuling Station. Took these a while back and forgot about them. I thought it was pretty impressive. It was about 10km off shore on the way out to Ilha Grande. Again photos dont do much in the way of showing the scale of things. The pipeline from land to the ships is about 2kms long and the ships themselves are simply massive. Sunday, April 27, 2008. The End Of The World! The sign was the best shot we got of the glacier! Ushuaia is pretty cool (in more ways than one!

Travelling Coolie: October 2008

http://travellingcoolie.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 31, 2008. KL is a funny place, everywhere you go the surroundings and atmosphere change dramatically. The first 2 night we spent here we stayed in Chinatown which is a bit like staying in a pressure cooker, its go go go all the time, people and cars all over the place, its just madness. We stayed 3 more nights in city center which was like a different world but no less mad. There seems to be no rules as to what you can or cant do in a car, more so on a bike. On the shopping front, for any...

Travelling Coolie: November 2008

http://travellingcoolie.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Although only a few hours bus trip away, Vietnam varies a lot from Cambodia. Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City as its called now) is still mental but its far cleaner and modern, and all the streets are tarmacked so youre not inhaling dust the whole time. On the other hand the people are nowhere near as nice and we came across the most agressive touts so far, and thats saying something after Thailand! Friday, November 28, 2008. 100 for an AK47! Called Fancy Hotel. It turned out to...

Travelling Coolie: Hong Kong

http://travellingcoolie.blogspot.com/2008/12/hong-kong.html

Saturday, December 13, 2008. Hong Kong skyline from the Kowloon side. Has to be one of the best cityscape views ever. Talk about finishing on a high, Hong Kong is a very, very cool city. No matter where you go its easy to find something going on. I have to say its surprisingly quiet in some places and the traffic over all is not how I imagened Hong Kong traffic to be. Everything is really free flowing, maybe its just me after leaving Vietnam! Im really glad we did it as we got to go beyond the city limit...

Travelling Content's Blog. Evocative and engaging articles for the Travel Industry. Tea For Two in Cardiff. July 9, 2012. Traditional Tea Rooms in the Heart of the City. Finally someone in the refreshment business is prepared to StarBuck the coffee trend. The Pettigrew Tea Rooms are, instead of being a pale pastiche of an Italian coffee house produced on a Seattle drawing board, a traditional British tea room. In keeping with the traditional motif, as well as a good selection of teas, you can also nibble...
