Beyond the quilt!: 10/13/14

http://pennyboden.blogspot.com/2014_10_13_archive.html

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Monday, October 13, 2014. Theres an elephant on my stoep! Baboons, Genets, bush babies, zebras peeing on the stoep are all rather commonplace but elephants here in Sabie Park, right near our house just boggles the mind! As we were preparing for our annual October pilgrimage to Sabie Park, Mphumalanga, I was reading more and more comments on the Sabie Park Facebook page about elephants coming over the river into Sabie Park! Two afternoons later Rob...

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Thursday, June 26, 2014. Swaziland is as lovely as ever and the people friendly and fun. The cherry on the top was that our weekend coincided with "Bushfire" the festival of African music, held annually in the valley and based at House on Fire. Yippeee.I have been dying to go. This was its seventh year of the festival and each year it gets better and better according to the pundits. Their dance rhthym and music was just marvelous! Please join me o...

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Saturday, June 28, 2014. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the main road (and only real road is just down the way! Our little resort is down a dusty road and along a narrow lane. It is like a little oasis. What amazes me, after a stroll around the back streets from our resort is the beautifully maintained mosques while people right next door live in such squalor! Another worrying sight is the broken coral washed up on the beaches! We sp...

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Sunday, July 27, 2014. During the day the restaurants are often closed or not too full but finding a table at night is challenging.when we were on the islands the young fellows working at the restaurant attached to our hotel said the fasting wasn't so difficult but giving up smoking and seeing others smoke was the hard part. We wish them "Salamat Hari ". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Please join me on my journey through my life, both literally and f...

We board the plane tonight for the VERY lengthy trip back home. We have been coming to Malaysia for the past twelve years and more! http://pennyboden.blogspot.com/2014/10/untitled.html

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Friday, October 10, 2014. Joy in the air. This was written whilst we were at our bush house. And the rains came! There is no doubt the two conversations had very little in common as the three girlfriends spend our lives thinking about our children and their children while the men discuss current affairs! Men are definitely from Mars and women from Venus. This is not my photo! Mother Nature has once again delivered on her promises. Thank you fo...

http://pennyboden.blogspot.com/2014/12/on-move.html

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Sunday, December 14, 2014. So there we were just enjoying the bush and chilling with Mother Nature (and special friends) when my D.B. (Dearly Beloved) announces that he has asked our friend Gavin to find us a house in White River. Now, is that the way to announce what obviously has been spinning around in his head? Anyway, at my age and stage does anything shock or really surprise is? And so it goes. On return to Toti I had intentions of beginning...

Please join me on my travels, experiences and happenings. Sunday, December 21, 2014. Wedding bells are ringing. Here we are back in Malaysia, the third time this year to celebrate Nick and Elaine's weddings! To re track, Nick a Chiropractor and business man, met Elaine, a Malaysian celebrity earlier this year. It was love at first sight! Our son Christopher from Australia had some of the "aunties" and uncle (90) dancing around on the dance floor! Uncle Chris and Joshua! This was a much more relaxed affai...

Travels in Tandem

Thursday, January 8, 2009. Our stay revolved around celebrating Christmas in St Nickolaus Kirche and later at the Dom. In between we gathered around our 'tree' for family photo and gifts, and otherwise spun around Myrna for pictures, footprint making, and to pick up on all her cute 'cues'. Thursday, December 18, 2008. As you can see the weather report does not include a white Christmas, but that doesn't stop all the outdoor Christmas Markts that include wonderful food and warm wine drinks (gluwein).
