Travels with Moxie

In which a woman and a dog explore. Last week, Moxie and I met with an agility. Every time Moxie and I get in the car, I remember what it's like to be on the road. There's nothing quite so freeing as having everything you really need in the world packed into the back of a station wagon. We'll taste that feeling again - our next road trip will take us back to DC in the spring. But until then we're savoring the sweetness of home. Posted by Butterflyby at 09:56. Travels with Moxie: You Can't Make This Stuff Up

http://travelswithmoxie.blogspot.com/2006/09/you-cant-make-this-stuff-up.html

In which a woman and a dog explore. You Can't Make This Stuff Up. A 200-gallon vat of lentil chili. An entire city decked out in lentil regalia. A parade and live bands and royalty and even a costumed mascot. All of it honored the homely lentil at the National Lentil Festival. In Pullman, Washington, two weeks ago. Posted by Butterflyby at 13:40. Yo, Beth - So what's been happening with you and Moxie since Sept., 2006? View my complete profile. Will you marry me? Dixie Chicks, "The Long Way Around".

In which a woman and a dog explore. Driving through awesome landscapes today I kept wondering, "Why would anyone choose. To live back East? Perhaps being back there next week will remind me. Tonight Moxie and I rest in Rawlins, Wyoming. Posted by Butterflyby at 21:09. Stranded at Spa Boise. Posted by Butterflyby at 17:36. Is worth experiencing.) And the Hill Country of west Texas didn't disappoint. Endless expanses of scrubby terrain set off the biggest sky I've ever seen. Then spent a day driving throug...

In which a woman and a dog explore. Summon up your moxie.". That's what my horoscope says today. I'm advised to fearlessly face something I've been avoiding. So I'm finally updating this blog. So I have no pictures to share, I'm sorry to say. I've been investigating the question I posed in Wyoming about the draw of the East. I have some thoughts on that, but can better convey them with the assistance of photos when all systems are "go" again. Posted by Butterflyby at 17:20. View my complete profile.

Travels with Moxie: Honky Tonk Puppy

http://travelswithmoxie.blogspot.com/2006/10/honky-tonk-puppy.html

In which a woman and a dog explore. Tennessee, it turns out, is a very long state. But it's quite lovely: the interstate wends over and around forests and cotton fields. We broke up the drive this afternoon with a walking tour of Nashville, which during our brief visit lived up to its reputation as a music-crazed party town. We're aiming for breakfast in Memphis tomorrow morning before pushing on through Arkansas, where we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for ivory-billed woodpeckers. Will you marry me?

In which a woman and a dog explore. Westward Ho: Another I-80 Trek. Outside of Chicago, we sat in traffic in triple-digit weather and thanked goodness we weren't piglets. This truck was full of them (note the tiny snout at bottom right), squealing wildly in what must have been miserable conditions. Does bacon really taste good enough to justify this? We turned off the interstate into Medicine Bow National Forest in eastern Wyoming, but had to reason with this crew before entering. View my complete profile.

Travels With Mom - Blog

As of today the blog for. Will be hosted HERE. There is No Place Like Yellowstone! Altitude sickness, fights, mobility issues. yeah, we've had a lot of those on this trip. But one thing fundamentally trumps them all. Yellowstone National Park is phenomenal! We visited our favorite Visitors Center of all time, the Craig Thomas Discovery Center in Moose, at the southern base of Grand Teton. There are movies in the floor; you walk over babbling brooks! How amazing to finally see a wolf! From Ouray, Colorado:.

One girl's adventures in cooking, crafting and mothering. Saturday, September 6, 2014. I just love these City Gym Shorts over at The Purl Bee. There is a link on the page to the free pattern. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Monster truck birthday cake and homemade boot covers. Which is easy to mold and keeps its shape well. The cake was delicious, the frosting fudgy and cocoa-y. I used this recipe. Aren't the best recipes sometimes the ones on the package? These boots I picked up at Primark. Monday, Septemb...

Travels with Mother | Trip Diaries of my Mom

Trip Diaries of my Mom. Jul 24, 1961 -. Like children, Harry and I couldn’t sleep and were awake at 3:30 the morning of July 24. Consequently we were ready when Nelwyn and Walker picked us up to go to the airport. There we ran into the Carlisle Willises (Margaret Merry), and the Friedmans who were seeing their son, Joe, off. We went over to Broadway for supper and a show. We saw Tammy Grimes in The Unsinkable Molly Brown I find it a bit ironic that they went to see a show about a woman who survived t...
