Just another WordPress.com site. Wordless Wednesday……………. It’s still) Wordless Wednesday…………………. →. Fabulously Fun Feathered Friday Finish……………. July 31, 2015. Maybe a titch overboard with the alliteration? Well, it is a finish and here is the photo heavy post . The finished size is 45 x 54 .a bit smaller than the 6 block by 6 block pattern (I did 5 blocks across) but I really like it! With the washing/drying, the texture is off the scale and makes for difficult photos! A couple back shots. It’s st...

Maternity Time… | Threadcrazy

Beauty surrounds us in all things. Enough about snakes.let me tell you about our maternity ward! In late March or early April, while working in the garden, I noticed some twigs sticking out of the bottom of the plastic owl I have in the garden. Looking closer I noticed the nest was emptyI should have taken it down right then but decided I’d leave it. So I paused and looked inone little white speckled egg. Hmmok.no big thing…wrong! Then this is today’s picture (July 1st). Cute little things aren’t they!
Empty Nesters… | Threadcrazy

Beauty surrounds us in all things. The saga of the mother wren who built her nest under a slide of our motorhome has ended. All five babies fledged and left us. On July 7, I snuck out early thinking I’d get one more picture of the babieswell I did! At first, I thought there were only four babies left in the nest! But if you’ll look right behind the one on the left, you’ll see a small sliver of white! That’s the fifth baby hiding from me. Now before you say, where’s your first trip going to be? What a ble...

Just What I Needed. I am Loving This! July 1, 2015. I haven’t posted for a while, but that doesn’t mean I have stopped stitching! I started a new embroidery project. Here’s how it started:. I had seen a group of my pink threads together, and thought it would be neat to try stitching a whole project ONLY using pink/coral colors. I had a sketch in my journal. And I had this card that I had gotten from a friend. I liked the colors in the card. Here’s some close-ups of the stitching:. And that’s how it...

Beauty surrounds us in all things. Monthly Archives: January 2015. It’s Been Fun…. Whew, here it is the end of January; where did the month go? Earlier this month and much to my surprise, I had a visit from Doreen Auger, better known as Treadlemusic , and her husband Tom. If you haven’t visited her blog, hop on over here. Doreen brought her Cardinal quilt with her and yes, it was just as beautiful as the pictures, even more so. Just one of those things I suppose, but I did get a couple of the backside.

Beauty surrounds us in all things. Monthly Archives: July 2015. Several weeks ago, our quilting bee made some placemats as a wedding gift for our favorite waitress at a local cafe. Having no idea of her colors , etc., we choose a light center fabric, along with a couple coordinating border fabrics, resulting in a fresh-springy table mat! Next came the pattern, which proved to be an easy selectionreal easy! Take a 14 square, fold in half on the diagonal(see below). Then fold in half again. For outside bor...

Beauty surrounds us in all things. Monthly Archives: August 2015. Granddaughters and pillow cases…. After careful planning, the time for the granddaughter’s visit finally arrived. Both Papa and I were looking forward to spending some quality time with the girls and the girls, well, they were looking forward to a vacation from Mom and Dad! Considering the temperature during the day was 100 , that cold water sure felt good. Since both of the girls wanted to sew,. Then just like that, it was time for all th...

A blog about my Stash Busting efforts.and the rest of my life. Monday, April 8, 2013. Design Wall Monday, April 8, 2013. My design wall has a strip on it. It's for my Starlit Evening quilt and it's for the final border. It's going to take a while to get enough for the border. It goes on three sides for the queen size. One of the reasons I haven't finished the stripe is because I am quilting the quilt for my nephew who was married over the summer. I'm using my old faithful "Svanes Swirl" pattern, lol.

Welcome to Treadle LadyMemories of my precious grandmother are why I treadle
In 1954 my grandmother taught me to treadle in her little adobe house in El Paso, Texas. She had a Singer treadle sewing machine with a long bobbin and mysterious Egyptian decals. With scraps I made a shoe box full of doll clothes for my chubby baby doll. Those were the pre-Barbie doll days, before the wasp waistline, long legs and cleavage. Welcome to Treadle Lady. TreadleOn - A Site for People-Powered Sewing Machine Users
Welcome to Treadle On! TreadleOn is dedicated to promoting the use of antique and vintage human powered sewing machines, i.e. treadle sewing machines and hand crank sewing machines. It is the home base and resource centre for the Treadle On Internet E-Mail List - for active users of treadle and hand crank sewing machines. The site was built, managed, and tickled into shape by Richard Wightman, who was and is a power to be reckoned with. Many pages are written in the First Person, and he is that person.
Southern Outpost - Treadle On
Treadle On is the inspiration of Richard Wightman of Seattle, WA. The purpose of Treadle On is to promote the actual use of, as opposed to the collecting of, treadle and hand crank sewing machines. The emphasis is on the "people powered" aspect, rather than just age, and some members are using treadles of current manufacture. A visit to the main website for Treadleon.
