the 44th parallel: October 2007

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 31, 2007. At least someone has faith in cycling. Usually when the names of any pro cycling fodder grace the page of the mainstream media I expect to see some doping scandal. That being said, i was pleased when Brian. Brought it to my attention that the New York Post (I know) is reporting a budding relationship between Lance Amstrong and one of the Olsen Twins. Say what you want about Landis' testosterone, but its very clear that our boy Lance isn't lacking in that department. See also:...

the 44th parallel: Spring Fever

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2008/04/spring-fever.html

Saturday, April 12, 2008. This week has wound up with some phenomenal weather despite the crummy forecasts. We got out to the Fells and spent some time just soaking up the sun. and throwing Madison in the reservoir. Tomorrow is the Turtle Pond Circuit Race. Which is next week. Its now officially the largest one day race in America - and features 5 unpaved sections with hills in excess of 15%. That one is gonna hurt. I'm out to spin the legs up and enjoy this weather - GO OUTSIDE! Until the snow ends.

the 44th parallel: December 2007

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 24, 2007. Way behind on this. There's that whole notion of winter training, assessing goals, and all those other motivational time-wasters. I'll get to it eventually. For now, however, I'm mucking about in Vermont for the next few weeks. Grabbed some new telemark skis, so I'll be climbing that learning curve for the next few weeks. I may try to find a nordic race here or there. Maybe climb some snowy mountains. I'll drop in more often with something more. Wednesday, December 12, 2007.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Tour of the Battenkill Roubaix - A Retrospective. First, I realize this is late - incredibly late. Sometimes riding gets in the way of blogging about riding - that or modeling world oil demand for the government of Abu Dhabi. Needless to say, last weekend marked my first experience with New England's own hell of the north - Battenkill Roubaix. Monday, April 14, 2008. Turtle Pond Circuit Race. The course jumps right into the only real climb, about 1.5 km in length, right out o...

the 44th parallel: Turtle Pond Circuit Race

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2008/04/turtle-pond-circuit-race.html

Monday, April 14, 2008. Turtle Pond Circuit Race. It's 5:17 AM and I'm awake before my alarm. Oh yes, I'm a bike racer again. Time for the morning routine, stuffing as many carbohydrates as my half awake stomach can take, and double checking the weather report for the day. Yep, still cold. Still, it was a solid performance. I'm still in my base miles period (I do have to race well into December remember) and this was not a priority race. Mainly I wanted to some distance under my belt before I tac...

the 44th parallel: February 2008

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Back on the 44th parallel. Its been hectic lately, to say the least. I'll save the uninitiated with the details, but let's just say a trip to the 44th parallel was just what I needed to gain a bit of perspective. We managed to avoid the presidents day crowd for one solid day of telemarking at Sugarbush. Enough time to convince myself that I did indeed retain what I learned over break, as well as remind me just how much your legs can hurt from 4 hours of droppin' knees.

the 44th parallel: March 2008

http://the44thparallel.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 18, 2008. It has been a week. I awoke with a start last Tuesday morning at around 4:00 am, convinced Sarah had shaken me awake. As I rolled over to see what the deal was I realized that Sarah was out of town - I was alone. Strange, I thought, that I could've sworn someone was there. I rolled back over, and just as my eyes closed the phone rang. Normally I don't keep my cell phone in the bedroom, but for some reason tonight I was compelled to. It was my Aunt Karen. Saturday, March 8, 2008.

Thursday, January 24, 2008. Sunday, January 20, 2008. Saturday, January 19, 2008. First full day with Madison. Well - its been a long day. Maddy slept from about 11-5:30, even getting up herself to use the paper, pretty impressive for an 8 week old puppy. I, on the other hand, tossed and turned all night. Friday, January 18, 2008. Here are a few pictures from the visit to first meet Maddy, and then some first night home shots. Madison and her mom Lucy Blue. Tons of disgustingly cute pictures to follow.
