Wednesday, October 31, 2007. At least someone has faith in cycling. Usually when the names of any pro cycling fodder grace the page of the mainstream media I expect to see some doping scandal. Saturday, April 12, 2008. This week has wound up with some phenomenal weather despite the crummy forecasts. We got out to the Fells and spent some time just soaking up the sun. and throwing Madison in the reservoir. Tomorrow is the Turtle Pond Circuit Race. Which is next week. Its now officially the largest one day race in America - and features 5 unpaved sections with hills in excess of 15%. That one is gonna hurt. I'm out to spin the legs up and enjoy this weather - GO OUTSIDE! Until the snow ends.

Monday, December 24, 2007. Way behind on this. There's that whole notion of winter training, assessing goals, and all those other motivational time-wasters. I'll get to it eventually. For now, however, I'm mucking about in Vermont for the next few weeks. Grabbed some new telemark skis, so I'll be climbing that learning curve for the next few weeks. Monday, April 14, 2008. Turtle Pond Circuit Race. It's 5:17 AM and I'm awake before my alarm. Oh yes, I'm a bike racer again. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Back on the 44th parallel. Its been hectic lately, to say the least. I'll save the uninitiated with the details, but let's just say a trip to the 44th parallel was just what I needed to gain a bit of perspective. We managed to avoid the presidents day crowd for one solid day of telemarking at Sugarbush. Enough time to convince myself that I did indeed retain what I learned over break, as well as remind me just how much your legs can hurt from 4 hours of droppin' knees.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008. It has been a week. I awoke with a start last Tuesday morning at around 4:00 am, convinced Sarah had shaken me awake. As I rolled over to see what the deal was I realized that Sarah was out of town - I was alone. Strange, I thought, that I could've sworn someone was there. I rolled back over, and just as my eyes closed the phone rang. Normally I don't keep my cell phone in the bedroom, but for some reason tonight I was compelled to. It was my Aunt Karen.
