I pick up from there and take you to the hotel about one hour away (location shown with marker on map). This transfer is included in the Provence Hiking Week. for the return a taxi may be used at a cost of around 110€ divided between up to 4 people. There are flights from the UK to Avignon airport but only in the summer. Fly to Marseille and take the TGV to Avignon.

Trekking in the Alps and Provence. Sunday, 26 January 2014. Good snow in Switzerland. First full week of snowshoeing for this year, a week based at the Gemmi Pass in Switzerland. This place has some of the best snowshoe walks around and is absolutely stunning.so long as the weather is good. In bad weather it can be a nightmare as there are no trees at all (far too high at 2300m) and fog tends to form on the plateau so trying to find your way is HORRIBLE! Ptarmigan in the fog. Lots of untracked powder.
