Utility vs. Style. Do you remember when the Gap tried (made? Khakis and polo shirts cool again? Yep, that was a thing. Pardon my not-so-precise memory, but I believe that was in the early 2000s. The Gap re-brand was an attempt to ooze a little coolness into its practical, utilitarian items of clothing. Khakis are alright, I guess. And the Gap is alright, I suppose.
