Our Normal: I Shall Not Want
http://joshankate.blogspot.com/2014/05/i-shall-not-want.html
Life In Abu Dhabi. I Shall Not Want. In our house this song has been on repeat for the last two months. From the love of my own comfort. From the fear of having nothing. From a life of worldly passions. Deliver me O God. From the need to be understood. From the need to be accepted. From the fear of being lonely. Deliver me O God. Deliver me O God. And I shall not want, I shall not want. When I taste Your goodness I shall not want. When I taste Your goodness I shall not want. From the fear of humility.

Our Normal: Masdar City
http://joshankate.blogspot.com/2014/05/masdar-city.html
Life In Abu Dhabi. Masdar City is aimed to be the first sustainable zero-carbon car-free city in the world. Located just 30 minutes outside of Abu Dhabi city, we knew we had to go visit the "city of the future."Well, we were a bit disappointed as it is much more a collection of office buildings than a city per se. By 2020 the. City" will rely entirely on solar energy. And other renewable energy. Sources, with a zero waste. Electric automated vehicles operating on a network of specially built guide ways.

Girl: The twirly thing Me: The tire swing? Oh, you are brave, I don't like those things. Girl: It is because I am only 4. Mehaffeys on the Move. Friday, August 31, 2012. Found Caiden asleep like this the other day. My sweet Caiden, 2 months old and flipping the bird. While we are on the old ailing body topic, I know you have been holding your breath about my mole. It is benign, so no worries there. Next time an update on my digestive system. Just kidding. A visit from Grandma and Grauntie. Grauntie feeding Caiden a bottle after touring and oil and vinegar shop (free samples! On a walk through the nearby woods. It's strange ...

Our Normal: The Cure For Envy
http://joshankate.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-cure-for-envy.html
Life In Abu Dhabi. The Cure For Envy. But godliness with contentment is great gain." -1 Timothy 6:6. I think envy is a sinful state that believers find themselves in probably just as often as those who don't profess a transforming faith in Jesus. Christians are constantly falling into the trap of comparison and often are enslaved to this false sense of keeping up with the Christian Jones'. Whether we want for sinful OR. Inherently good things, the dissatisfaction we have with our own lives is the same.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. And told me to come back in a few hours. Erin and I could not handle the cuteness of these kiddos all dressed in their African clothes. Monday, February 9, 2015. Well 31 weeks and 5 days if you want to be exact. We have failed to take as many pictures as we would like recently, so today we decided to snap a few before we headed out to the store. fox blog: Two Years Old!
http://ourfoxblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/two-years-old.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. On Saturday Obie turned two and we celebrated with a small party and some yummy food. As a kid I remember my mom always making some amazing cakes for my birthday and so I was motivated by these memories to try something fun for Obie. The kids had fun running around and playing with balloons. The menu was: fried chicken (from KFC) homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage salad and pineapple. Erin and Trey managed the kids while the rest of the adults enjoyed dinner. Our sweet li...

fox blog: Ella- Two Months
http://ourfoxblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/ella-two-months.html
Saturday, May 30, 2015. Our sweet little girl is two months old today. She has done well in adjusting to the time zone and has seemed to have no idea that we have just had a major move. It took us about ten days to get back into our normal sleep schedules. On Monday it will be three weeks since we left Uganda. Ella seems to be changing everyday. Her sleep is real consistent and she only wakes up once in the night to eat. She LOVES bath time and sometimes she fusses if she has been held too much. On Satur...
