The beeping machines beeped. The breathing tube breathed. The IV drip, dropped. The Cystic Fibrosis, ate. 8220;Don’t say things like that to your mother” said Dad, crossly. The patient looked at her small hands, laced with pretty tubes that pierced her skin, easing the pain, itching like hell and burning. It hurt to breathe, too.
