Diary of a weekend gardener: January 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Saturday, January 29, 2005. Perfect weather for just looking. Beautiful day. High pressure and still. Sun came out about 1pm and it was wall to wall blue for a few hours. The grass seemed to grow half an inch and the first clutch of cream crocuses tentatively opened up. There's much to do, but it can wait a little. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 6:53 pm. Sunday, January 23, 2005. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 4:15 pm. Friday, January 21, 2005. The year starts here. My delivery from Chase ...

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Monday, May 30, 2005. The joy of a three day weekend. The extra day makes such a difference. I get two days gardening and a day for other stuff. The runner beans are in, the pumpkin patch is cleared and ready. I've re-arranged the polytunnel and might even have the garden tidy before the day is out. We've had wall to wall sunshine and even I am happy to be in the shade. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 6:26 pm. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 6:24 pm. Sunday, May 29, 2005. Wild, windy and warm.

Diary of a weekend gardener: June 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Sunday, June 26, 2005. My garden is officially dead. I bought a soil testing kit at SW2005 and had a go with it today. I followed all instructions carefully and the results are pictured below. I now have scientific proof that my soil:. Has a ph of 5.0 (must be nearly acidic enought to etch glass). Has a barely registering nitrate level. Has some phosporus - yippee! Has absolutely no potassium whatsoever. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 3:02 pm. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 3:01 pm. Wednes...

Diary of a weekend gardener: I should be revising, but...
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2007/02/i-should-be-revising-but.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Tuesday, February 06, 2007. I should be revising, but. I'm all revised out. As the famous cartoon goes, ' Miss, my brain is full! So, with an overnight low of -3.6C and a rapidly thawing frost outside, I put down the text books in favour of the camera. Papaver atlanticum's hairy leaves holding the frost beautifully. A white quince with its frost-proof flowers open in total disregard of the sub-zero temperature. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 10:24 am. View my complete profile. A gre...

Diary of a weekend gardener: March 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Wednesday, March 30, 2005. My new herbaceous border arrived in a box from Penlan Perennials this morning - easy to order on-line and all arrived safe and sprouting. Felt like a kid on Christmas morning. 3 x Meconopsis Lingholm (Grandis), 3 x Trillium Grandiflorum, 3 x pulmonaria 'David Ward', 3 x Geranium 'Ann Folkard' and some other bits. The best news is that it's been raining all day - exactly what they all need. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 4:51 pm. Tuesday, March 29, 2005.

Diary of a weekend gardener: August 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Rats, runners and the first cyclamen. There's so much going on I'm not sure where to start. Here follows the bullet point approach to blogging. Tomatoes: usual story, plants pressed against the roof, some but not many tomatoes. Runner beans: a glut beyond gluttony. Carrots: large, firm, carroty. A collection of worthy contenders for Blackadder's 'most offensive carrot' competition. Peppers and chillies: lots, but still green and I want them red.

Diary of a weekend gardener: February 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Sunday, February 20, 2005. It was all car, trailer and racing this weekend so no gardening - again! Still, once the trailer is finished I can get rid of a load of garden rubbish and buy some fresh topsoil. This weekend's garden spotting included a wren and a grey wagtail, plus the usual greenfinches, blue tits, great tits, mistle thrush and blackbirds. Pleasant company in winter sunshine. 2C to 6C today, light wind from due north, no rain. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 8:10 pm.

Diary of a weekend gardener: April 2005
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Friday, April 29, 2005. Ups and downs of a week away. On the plus side, everything is greener and bigger than when I left on Monday. I'm so glad I did a big weeding job over the weekend or they'd be greener and bigger too. On the downside, a lot of the cuttings I took have succumbed to heat stroke from being in the conservatory and untended. No big deal. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 6:10 pm. Sunday, April 24, 2005. A two day gardening fest. What's left on each side:. Two shrubby w...

Diary of a weekend gardener: A new life beckons.
http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2007/02/new-life-beckons.html
Diary of a weekend gardener. Tuesday, February 13, 2007. A new life beckons. Today we exchanged contracts on Lodge Lane Nursery in Dutton, Cheshire, along with a cottage, a 1 acre garden open to the public and a small but pretty stretch of meadow and woodland alongside the Trent and Mersey canal. We will own it by Thursday night and Monday morning will herald the start of my new life as a nursery owner. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 3:37 pm. Nr Barnton, Cheshire, North west UK, United Kingdom.
