brilliant light: DON QUIXOTE
http://brilliant-light.blogspot.com/2010/04/don-quixote.html
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Recently, I saw the movie LATTER DAYS. It is the story of the intersecting of lives of a gay L.A. partyboy and a Utah Mormon missionary on his two-year mission. There is a song strung through the film by the band TOAD THE WET SPROCKET. Toad the wet sprocket. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). CHECK OUT my etsy shop. Collaborative photo blog with my sibs. brilliant light: The dust that hides the glow of a rose....
http://brilliant-light.blogspot.com/2010/05/dust-that-hides-glow-of-rose.html
Tuesday, May 18, 2010. The dust that hides the glow of a rose. Last weekend I went to a cheapie movie theater and finally saw SHUTTER ISLAND.Definately not the most origional plot for a film.worn slightly thin in parts, but overall a beautiful movie with a pretty stellar cast (Leonardo DiCaprio is pretty impressive with his sustained intensity).visually beautiful.and with an awesome soundtrack. Piece "On the Nature of Daylight".and then a female's voice joins it: the Queen of Blues: DINAH WASHINGTON.

brilliant light: the TRASH heap: POSTSCRIPT
http://brilliant-light.blogspot.com/2010/04/trash-heap-postscript.html
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The TRASH heap: POSTSCRIPT. Who knew that on my latest trip to the G-WILL that I would also discover it to be a conduit for soul searching.which is apparently what I have been doing alot of on a subconscious level. This poem was hiding amoungst the frames on the shelf.and usually I am buying the frames for future art projects.not for what is in the frame.usually cliche or amatuerish.(again, Not being a snob.).But there is was the DESIDERATA. Who knows why this happened. YOU THO...

brilliant light: 2011
http://brilliant-light.blogspot.com/2011/01/2011.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. Sunday the 7th.already a week into the new year.and FINALLY a chance to come up for air after the holidays.I havent really had a moment to myself until now.to plan for the coming year.I EVEN wrote some resolutions down. I used to dismiss this practice in the past, but I just turned 39 this December, and as I get older I am starting to see the need for SOME sort of plan if only for the illusion of "direction". The plastic statue of the Virgin. On top of a bedroom dresser. Here's h...

Urban Miracles: December 2008
http://urbanmiracles.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 8, 2008. Italy In Our Hearts. This past April, I ventured across the globe to Tuscany and spent a week at La Loggia. With my favorite poet, David Whyte. In San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. We tucked ourselves into a cozy booth, shared glasses of a beautiful Super-Tuscan red wine and nibbled on fresh mushroom pizza. We let ourselves truly reminisce - the kind of reminiscing you can't do with people who didn't take the journey with you. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). San Francisco, CA.

Urban Miracles: 18 Reasons
http://urbanmiracles.blogspot.com/2009/04/18-reasons.html
Saturday, April 25, 2009. I can list about 200 reasons why I live in San Franc. But one that comes to mind as of late is the organization I recently discovered -. Which is based out of its small art/community space in the Mission, is associated with my absolute favorite independent grocery store in the city -. I'll get more into the magic of BiRite. People to communicate this shared passion with each other.". The wineries that were show. The place got within the first 30 minutes. There must have been...

Urban Miracles: Do You Know The Muffin Man?
http://urbanmiracles.blogspot.com/2009/05/do-you-know-muffin-man.html
Friday, May 8, 2009. Do You Know The Muffin Man? Here's exactly how it went down. I started noticing this guy hanging around Dolores Park, the 24 th. Street BART station and the varying outdoor hangouts in the Mission. He's a distinctive looking guy - tall and lanky, usually wears a cool beret- ish. Something that "excites the taste buds. For a long time, I assumed he was selling "magic" muffins, as so many park vendors seem to be doing these days. That's just part of the culture here. Treat to start or ...
