We typically recommend using the lighter and less expensive C-12 clamp, as the C-30 clamp was made specifically for the old-style Wimberley Head. The added length of the C-30 provides little added functionality for most applications. A captive knob is designed in such a way that the user cannot accidentally remove the knob during use.
