Back 2 School Mom. Raising Kids and Returning to school can be quite an adventure. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Highlights of Cranberry Lake, NY. We went camping for Memorial Weekend to an amazing state park in upstate NY, called Cranberry Lake. If you ever want to go to a beautiful lake camping, I highly recommend this park. It was breath taking. Here are some highlights:. We spent the first night in the van because of a lighting storm too close for comfort. Oh, the fun of camping. DK whizzed right in front o...

So, clearly it’s been some time since I posted last (15 months to be precise) and so before we get to the writing, here’s another life update. And this place is certainly not the Ritz Carlton, but it is where we need to be. Since I’m currently cooking dinner, I will say au revoir for now and post again in a few days. Marc Hart: Word Racket. New Year, New Stuff. Welcome to the New Me →. May 19, 2012 · 8:34 pm. Wow, so I seem to be back to my old habit of not posting anything for months at a time. I won’t say anything about changing that since I’m lazy and never seem to do what I say I’m going to do. Let me take a few sentences to recap life this year…. After finishing the first draft of the seventh Bluebonnet County novella, I realized that the stories were not as. I also need to actually type up the first draft of th...

Navigating this tricky terrain. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. This may be familiar to you. Of course, if you're one of the three people that read my ramblings, this will mostly look familiar to you, because its basically a speedy "from then til now" about my boy and the beginning of our journey. A friend I met through the ABA center has struck out on her own and started this amazing resource: Autism Companion. It is focused on the Indianapolis area, but of course the information and content is universal!

Navigating this tricky terrain. Friday, February 10, 2012. I have been dreading this. Kindergarten terrifies me. We worked so hard to get Liam where he is today. It took lots of diligence and patience and busting through red tape to get him the very best possible treatment. We LOVE his ABA therapy center and feel really blessed that it has all worked out, and even better, that it is working! Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Thinking of you today. It brings back so many emotions for me. I refer to that day ...

Navigating this tricky terrain. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Liam has started to want to cook with me. Cooking with Liam is much harder and takes much longer. I wouldn't have it any other way. It is so worth a delayed dinner to do something constructive WITH him rather than keeping him occupied while I do it without him. I'm thrilled to be able to involve him in my favorite hobby. "We" even won the chili cook-off at my office! Friday, November 11, 2011. Happy birthday to my sweet Liam! I was worried that...

Navigating this tricky terrain. Monday, March 17, 2014. A Better Kind of Spring. It’s been so long since I’ve written anything! I hate when I do that, and I think I figured out why it happened this time. I tend to write more when I’m struggling. It’s a means for me to get my own thoughts and feelings straight. I’m not sure why writing works for me, but it does! He has come so far out of his shell that sometimes even I don’t recognize him. Liam LOVES everything about this school. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Navigating this tricky terrain. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Liam is officially done with ABA therapy. It's so strage because we worked SO HARD to get it for him, and now we're voluntarily moving on. I'll write about the recent IEP soon, but for now, for the summer, Liam is going to the YMCA day camp that is held at the elementary school where he will be in first grade next year. . I'm happy to report that he is doing great! He keeps asking, "Mommy, I work at camp tomorrow? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We are a...
