Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Saturday, July 3, 2010. A rant that I cannot post on Facebook. I really want to post this on Facebook, but I can’t. However, I want to get it out somewhere. I’m getting sick and tired of people posting political comments on Facebook calling people of different political beliefs (or ideals? Also, what happened to being civil and polite? Besides it hurts my feelings.”. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dr Mom, My Adventur...

Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Thursday, August 16, 2012. Some thoughts about being a working mom. I’ve been a parent now for a little over a year and a working parent for about 11.5 months now. I have thoughts on these things, but seem to have a perpetual problem organizing them. Therefore, for the 3 people left who read this blog, you get this. Instead of 5 or more! And I’m adjusting to getting everything done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Monday, January 3, 2011. I have a good feeling about 2011. Things have gotten rather dusty around here. It’s been a while since I came around here. Between writing the dissertation, preparing for the defense, and various family dramas blogging hasn’t been a very high priority. Today, though, I got the urge to blog and I decided to run with it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. The Trouble with ...

Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Tuesday, October 9, 2012. I remember reading way back in March a call for posting about logistics for/with working moms. At the time I was falling apart. Note: Kiddo is just over 15 months old now. 6:00am Wake up with alarm. If Kiddo hasn’t woken up during the night (praise God! Then go check to make sure he’s still alive. 6:15am Sit down for breakfast with coffee. 6:45am Get Kiddo up and dressed. Work like a fiend.

Friend Who Wants An Unmedicated Birth: Well, what did your midwife have to say? Me: Nothing. I had an OB. Well, you’re lucky you didn’t have a C-section. At least you didn’t have an epidural, right? Me: Actually, I requested one. FWWAUB: Then, of course, you had to have pitocin. Epidurals always stall your labor. For an explanati...

Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Of course, I tweeted about this. I was debating about walking to the building where the admin that could help me was located, but I was hesitant to bother her. I got an overwhelming DO IT from everyone. I was about to answer back something along the lines of "But it's not nice to bother people! You're too nice. "Can we fix this now? 8212; NatC (@SciTriGrrl) August 20, 2013. As I was out...

Chronicling my journey through grad school and navigating the so-called "Two Body Problem". Tuesday, December 31, 2013. 2013: Year End Meme. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before? Gave a talk at a national conference. Did you keep your 2013 resolutions, and will you make more this year? I did not. I made a general theme of trying to thrive instead of just survive. In some ways I did that, but others I did not. Did anyone close to you give birth? A friend from grad school did. The third boo...
