After nearly two and a half years with Bob. Bob and I are taking the ultimate plunge. We’re combining book collections. And now, I’m overdue for a much-needed nap! On November 25t...

long-overdue update - Adam

Long-overdue update - Adam. Jun 20th, 2006 10:28 am. Wow, I haven't updated in a while. Here's what I've been up to:. After I got home from graduation, I interviewed for a job at the startup that my friend Adam works for. I kinda blew that one, though to be fair, there was a language barrier issue (the senior dev interviewing me didn't speak English very clearly and I don't speak Chinese at all, so we were more or less in a constant state of confusion). And now, the big thing:. And they scheduled me for ...

Teal deer vs. the novel: is the internet soaking up novel-reading time? Sunday, January 27th, 2008 - 9:23 am. For the past few years? I haven't been reading all that many novels. And then of course there's the internet. Apart from LJ, which for me is simultaneously a place to chat with other people and a source of good stories, I do spend some time reading . . . I dunno, the things you read on the net. All those things. Mentioning an LJ community called. We're talking hours. Every day. According to Ursul...

Ill be right here, lying in the hands of God. Mar 1st, 2015 at 1:48 PM. Somewhere in there, I remembered that one of the possible side effects of taking Tamoxifen, the anti-cancer drug they put me on about a year ago, was blood clots in the leg. Wonderful. I also called my oncologist's office since he said he wanted to hear if I had any problems like this. The nurse called me back and told me to stop taking the Tamoxifen immediately and come in for my previously-scheduled appointment next week. Thank you...

Through the looking glass. The examined life of writer and editor alyce wilson. LJ Idol - Intro to Alyce. Sep 19th, 2008 at 10:51 PM. For those who began reading recently, and especially for readers of Real LJ Idol. Here's an introduction to myself, as glimpsed through a variety of lenses. As she burst into my office, the dame in the short black trench coat shot me a look like Cookie Monster spotting an Oreo (or, these days, a carrot). You already have, she said, standing abruptly. I needed an openin...
