Then, after my husband and I lost our twins, every month that my period showed up (and the horrible cramps and nauseousness that accompanied it), it was a painful reminder that we were not pregnant. When the nurse hadn't called by 3:00pm I figured I'd call her. Normally I'm not this anxious for my numbers. By this time I know it didn't work and would rather not hear the result.
