Friday, June 26, 2015. People always told me that time will start to go faster the older you get. So much happened, including a lot of growth, and it’s terrifying how it all feels condensed into this brief flicker. How is it that a period of such importance passed in what feels like a snap of my fingers? If I had been more present, could I have prolonged that feeling of time? Would I still be where I am right now? Like I said, quarter-life crisis is real. From Alice Waters’ The Art of Simple Food. Post o...

Monday, December 15, 2014. Why is it that cheeseballs only really seem appropriate in the few weeks surrounding Christmas? But really, the other 50 weeks of the year could pass by and my mind would not once even consider a cheeseball. Then, Christmas rolls around and this is suddenly a thing. It doesn’t make sense because cheese in a constant in my life and I would gladly eat this all day, every day. But for future reference, at least there’s buzzfeed. And that’s it! Adapted slightly from Paula Deen.

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Sitting at home, in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, I am in the midst of what is my third bout of illness within a two-month period. This most recent is believed to have been picked-up in the gym somewhere – so much for trying to get back into healthy habits. But anyway, let’s talk about chocolate krantz cake. The recipe comes from Yotam Ottolenghi’s Jerusalem. Better yet, the bread keeps wonderfully, which is nice considering that it takes a decent amount of time (2 days!

Monday, July 7, 2014. Peach and Mozzarella Salad. In a few days, my sister will be coming to visit us from Boston. Whenever she comes our itinerary is more than likely to involve at least one food-related activity each day so it’s not a surprise that we’ve been discussing what we are going to eat when she visits for over a month now. A few weeks ago she sent me this text…. 8220;Do you think peaches will be in season when I’m down there? I want peaches. Not from California.”. Peach and Mozzarella Salad.

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Following tradition, I made my once yearly trek to Boston and spent a fabulous 4. Of July weekend with my sister. Is located in Boston but also because he included a recipe for a corn carbonara pasta dish. “How intriguing! 8 ears of corn, shucked. Using a sh...
