https://tucsonhikes.wordpress.com/2013/03/31/pontatoc-ridge-trail
My Hikes in and about Tucson. On March 31, 2013. The top of the ridge (at 2070 feet above the trail head parking lot) offers truly sweeping views of the Catalina mountains, Finger Rock and all of Tucson. Amazing! Counting how many feet you have to climb with all the ups and downs, the hike comes in at 2420 feet. Note that I first went to the end of the official trail, and then backed up to the unofficial trail that leads up the ridge. Larr; Ventana Canyon Trail. 2 comments on “ Pontatoc Ridge Trail.

Gulkana Glacier. In a word: “Amazing”. July 28, 2015 · 2:24 pm. Gulkana Glacier… Try, Try Again. We waited for a good weather day, and packed for a 2 day overnight trek. This time, after we crossed the suspension bridge, we stayed alert for a trail to the right, which we hoped would enable us to ascend to the peak of the moraine and get past the the unstable end moraine and the creek coming out of Gulkana – success! Cross Canada Plains to Alaska 2015. Gulkana Glacier. In a word: “Amazing” →. July 22, 2015 · 12:04 am. Birding and Blooming on the Denali Highway. On our last trek to Alaska, we somehow missed the Denali and Richardson Highways and the region called the “Interior”. Yah I know. I don’t know either. Our plan this time is to spend more time in different regions, settling into an area and really exporing it for a week or two, rather than just cruising through and skimming the surface. Birding and Blooming on the Denali Highway. Gulkana Glacier… Try, Try Again →. July 22, 2015 · 4:53 pm. Gulkana Glacier. In a word: “Amazing”. There is just so much about this place to share. This is the place where we really felt like we had accomplished some of our goals for this trip. If we could choose just one place to spend an entire summer in Alaska, this would probably be it. The Audubon guy from our last post? Had told us about this legendary bridge. It sounded like just our kind of adventure.
