Tufts University Cycling Team: Local Climbs

http://www.tuftscycling.blogspot.com/2010/10/local-climbs.html

Tufts University Cycling Team. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Recently people have been asking/ wondering how steep and long some of the local climbs that the team ride on are. So I've put together some basic info about climbs the team runs into most frequently, and then added in a couple extras to provide some alternatives. Starting at Powderhouse, Packard ave has discouraged many a Tufts undergrad from taking their bike to Olin/Cabot/Barnum. .3 miles and climbing. Johnson rd. (think reservoir loop bac...

Tufts University Cycling Team: Fall riding tips

http://www.tuftscycling.blogspot.com/2010/11/fall-riding-tips.html

Tufts University Cycling Team. Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Note, wind chill factor is exponentially more important when the initial air temp is lower so in the coming weeks and months look for the "feels like" or wind chill temps, and base clothing decisions from that value. 55 F, no special considerations required unless it's dumping rain outside, but otherwise not really in the span of this post. A word on snow, forget your romantic notions of snow, this stuff sucks to bike in. Skiing yes, biking no...

Tufts University Cycling Team: Let the Racing Begin: Rutgers Race Report

http://www.tuftscycling.blogspot.com/2011/03/let-racing-begin-rutgers-race-report.html

Tufts University Cycling Team. Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Let the Racing Begin: Rutgers Race Report. After all of the winter miles and cold weather, the Tufts Cycling Team was greeted by a great weekend of racing at the Rutgers Scarlet Scurry ECCC Opener. The team was lucky enough to have wonderful housing arrangements for the weekend at Evan's house, and we arrived Friday night we were greeted by a large feast. Evan's mother is known for her wonderful cooking, and she did not disappoint.

Tufts University Cycling Team: November 2010

http://www.tuftscycling.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Tufts University Cycling Team. Saturday, November 20, 2010. First Take on the ECCC Fall Meeting. This weekend West Point hosted the ECCC's annual fall planning meeting, which aside from working out any potential rule changes and improvements at the conference level the 2011 racing schedule needed to be decided. I assume none of you are terribly interested in any potential changes to scoring in the men's D field I'll skip down to a summary of what lies ahead. Rebranded as the Rutger's Scarlet Scurry.

Rolling Untrue: December 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 26, 2010. Sorry for the unannounced hiatus from blogging. Just a few days after settling back in at home, I was on a plane again for a week-long ski trip in Montana with my dad and sister. I hope that inches of powder and a total lack of lift lines will suffice as passable excuses for the absence. The Lone Peak Brewery. When I got all the practice I will ever need at getting through indoor workouts. Let the Food Network marathon commence. Wednesday, December 15, 2010. But, I survived&#46...

Rolling Untrue: Crash bang boom

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010/06/crash-bang-boom.html

Thursday, June 10, 2010. So just when I thought I'd hit rock bottom already and was due for some good fortunes, it all came crashing down again.quite literally. I'm recovering from my crash and I feel well, but it turns out the damage was worse than I thought. My knee is alright and I should have the green light to ride the trainer by this weekend and will get the stitches out some time next week. My hand, though, is going to keep me out of commission for a bit longer. June 10, 2010 at 4:59 PM. Subscribe...

Rolling Untrue: And that's a wrap

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2011/01/and-thats-wrap.html

Friday, January 7, 2011. And that's a wrap. Normally, I wouldn't be exactly thrilled by a fresh dusting, but today's could not have come at a better time. I was more than ready for a day off, and I have no issue with heading to the slopes tomorrow in lieu of riding. If everything is clear by Sunday or Monday, I can go at it again and call it a block. Coq au vin with roasted potatoes and green beans. Whole wheat pancakes with apple butter. (We ran out of syrup.). Mushroom bourguignon (with fettucini).

Rolling Untrue: June 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 20, 2010. Winner, winner chicken dinner. I have to admit that I've been struggling lately to keep my head up and not get too down on myself. Anyone reading here probably knows that I've been through a pretty rough stretch lately and it has taken a lot for me to stay positive. It hasn't been getting any easier. I am a firm believer that happiness is a direct correlation to pancake consumption. And pancake consumption is down, way down.). Could things be worse? Thursday, June 10, 2010. By now,...

Rolling Untrue: May 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 18, 2010. After some time off from any focused training thanks to my unfortunate affinity for making friends with the front of automobiles, I was finally able to get back to business this past weekend. I made it through a tough week of finals, rode as much as I could, and finally made it to Friday, when I was able to load up the car and head home. What a relief. Next up is Sunapee and a little team mini-camp. Maybe I can forge a little form for the up-coming stage races. Who knows. The busin...

Rolling Untrue: July 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 5, 2010. It's Getting Hot In Here. My living room that is. One month removed from the worst crash of my career so far, and hopefully the worst I'll ever have, I'm happy to say that I've found peace, and a routine. Though unwanted and at times utterly demoralizing, this forced break has caused me to take a step back and reassess my approach to training and my connection to this sport. See you all soon. Rolling Untrue: February 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 15, 2010. Yes, the picture from my last post. Was of a glorious plate of French toast. And yes, I will once again be singing the praises of said French toast in tonight's recap of my four-day weekend. Challah French toast - the king of all French toasts. Sunday, I set out with Kevin, one of my new teammates on Ora presented by IF. Oh, and I had more French toast when I got home. YUMMMM! Days until Rutgers Frozen-Toed Season Opener. Rolling Untrue: November 2010

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. After a weekend like this, it would be a lie to say that I won't miss this place. Fortunately, it's not quite time to head back stateside just yet, as I have another two weeks left in Barcelona. I think that will be just right. But, after stopping for some cafe con leche and bocadillos, we were both good to go again and cruised on home for just shy of 5 hours of riding. Next time, we'll be tackling the mountain we rode to the base of this weekend, Montserrat. A slice of home.

Rolling Untrue: Is it a little stuffy in here?

http://evanacooper.blogspot.com/2011/01/is-it-little-stuffy-in-here.html

Friday, January 14, 2011. Is it a little stuffy in here? When all your belongings will not fit into the folded-down trunk space of a Honda Pilot, you probably have a bit too much stuff. I guess I'm guilty as charged. I would take a picture of all this stuff, but at the moment it is still scattered about the house. Maybe on Sunday as I stuff my stuff into the trunks of the cars, I'll try to capture the moment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. View my complete profile.
