A Downtown ontheRange: Building demolition rampant
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2009/12/building-demolition-rampant.html
Monday, December 28, 2009. So typically a demolition is fine if two things prove true: the development that replaces it comes right up to the sidewalk, and the building being demolished be insignificant enough to not be missed. A building like the old Braniff Building is very significant, a building like the 1-story white brick Red Cross building is not significant. As I wrote in " The problem with an otherwise excellent SandRidge proposal. The answer is nothing, it just has to be done delicately. Th...

Thursday, August 9, 2012. Midtown has that new website smell. Midtown Renaissance: Full Video Coming Soon. MidtownRenaissance (Howard/Clagg/et al.), which has recently announced a ton of really exciting deals such as a partnership with Coury Properties to renovate the Osler into an upscale boutique hotel, or their partnership with the city to build a parking garage on NW10th between the 1101 building (on Broadway) and the Frontline Church (on Robinson) - has unveiled a new website. CCS: Best and worst.

A Downtown ontheRange: NW 9th Street revitalization
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2009/12/nw-9th-street-revitalization.html
Wednesday, December 9, 2009. NW 9th Street revitalization. Mason had a different idea with the rest of the block though. He thought he could save the boarded up old houses and put businesses in them, and just have parking along the street. After working to save one boarded up house that had sustained fire and flood damage, a desert shop, Sara Sara Cupcakes, has opened up in one of them. Aside from Smith's new restaurants, several other projects are currently in the works. Mason is already in talks. Buyer...

A Downtown ontheRange: The view from the Civic Center Music Hall steps
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2010/04/view-from-civic-center-music-hall-steps.html
Sunday, April 25, 2010. The view from the Civic Center Music Hall steps. When I was in town recently for various things, including attending the transit forum- I was walking out the Civic Center Music Hall and onto the steps in front of it and I was just blown away by the setting that surrounds the Civic Center. Here's an idea: Why don't we focus more on the Civic Center/City Hall area and build downtown around that environment? Let's also build and orient more of our downtown toward this bright area.

A Downtown ontheRange: North Dallas..shopping and riding the rails
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2009/08/north-dallasshopping-and-riding-rails.html
Sunday, August 9, 2009. North Dallas.shopping and riding the rails. Recent trip to Dallas.I took more pics, they are posted on the forums. TOD) Few cities have done TOD better than Dallas and Denver, to name two that have done it very well. I think suffice it to say, at every direction, Dallas has discovered how to develop sustainable shopping malls. One (Mockingbird) is new, and shows how to do it in the 21st Century, and another (HP Village) was done right in 1931 and has lasted ever since. I also incl...

A Downtown ontheRange: "Pullin' a Tulsa"
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2010/03/you-want-truth-you-cant-handle-truth.html
Friday, March 26, 2010. But as with any good news up the turnpike, it's not without tons and tons of bickering, politics, shady back room deals, corruption, and public media wars. If anyone had difficulty understanding how a schmuck like the Anti-Obama Candidate for Mayor, Dewey Bartlett could resoundingly win office- this is how. Tulsa's powers that be. After a year of being tied up in complicated processes and wait periods that never made any sense to veteran Tulsa developer Bob Eggleston. With 3 major...

A Downtown ontheRange: A City of Neighborhoods
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2010/08/city-of-neighborhoods.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2010. A City of Neighborhoods. On a side note (as a joke), perhaps we can motivate some of these neighborhoods to get their act together and start meeting city code by placing signs at all the entrances that say "You're now leaving OKC, and now entering the 3rd World Country known as Classen-Ten-Penndjibouti.". BEST OF THE BEST. West Main Historic District. So what do we call the inner north side of OKC? The Heights- the north side is somewhat hilly, and it could help combat the reput...

A Downtown ontheRange: Saturday in the Park..on a 113 degree day
http://downtownontherange.blogspot.com/2012/09/saturday-in-parkon-113-degree-day.html
Thursday, September 13, 2012. Saturday in the Park.on a 113 degree day. Hi,Nick. I hadnt heard of your move and I hope youll enjoy your move to Ohio. My maternal side of the family moved here from Ohio (Washington Court House) around 1900 when 5 or 6 siblings moved to Oklahoma near Duncan around 1900 or so. Hope you get to see the Wild Thing when the Indians finally win a pennant OR an NBA division crown. That was a great set of photos, by the way. October 13, 2012 at 3:13 AM. As telas mosquiteira sp.
