Es war Herbst 2011, als die beiden eigenständigen Turnvereine aus Kirchleerau und Moosleerau beschlossen, gemeinsam das Kreisturnfest im benachbarten Holziken zu bestreiten. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an wurde die Zusammenarbeit gelebt und gefördert. Bis vor dem Eidgenössischen Turnfest 2013 die Idee aufkam, gemeinsam etwas Grosses auf die Beine zu stellen ein Turnfest der beiden Leerau sollte von nun an das Ziel sein, um die Partnerschaft zu festigen.
