Turners' Travels

Our travels from New Zealand to Europe and East Africa in 2009 and 2011. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Tuesday April 19th 2011. We had a choice of either visiting the Ten Boom museum or the tulip fields. I preferred the museum option but Bruce was keener on seeing the tulips. We decided to try the museum option first, being unsure as to when the English tour would be held. Stripes of purple turned out to be hyacinths. Posted by Bruce and Christine Turner. Turners' Travels: A trip to Dorsten

http://turners09.blogspot.com/2012/02/trip-to-dorsten.html

Our travels from New Zealand to Europe and East Africa in 2009 and 2011. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. A trip to Dorsten. After lots of goodbyes, we left around 1pm. Pics are of our three children, Kelvin and Christina, and of a bouquet (not sure whether it was Judith's or not! The next meal after breakfast was coffee and wedding cake in the garden - by then we were all feeling hungry! Bruce and I had a bit of a brain-wave - as we were so close to Holland, why didn't we try to see whether we could fit in ...

Our travels from New Zealand to Europe and East Africa in 2009 and 2011. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Part VI - Homeward Bound; Part VII - Where to from now? Part VI - Homeward Bound. Saturday July 25th - Sunday 26th. We had a good flight to Dubai, landing earlier than expected at 11.30 pm The heat (38°) hit you as you walked down the steps to the waiting bus; it takes about 1/2 hour to reach the new terminal, air-bridges are so much quicker! It was quite good to be able to use up some Skywards points!

Our travels from New Zealand to Europe and East Africa in 2009 and 2011. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Bruce's trip to Rushonga. I'd managed an excellent night's sleep so woke up feeling somewhat refreshed. The day looked like it was going to be fine at first, but then a thunderstorm arrived at about 9.30, much later than usual - they often seemed to start between 6 and 7. This time the rain persisted until the afternoon. The night ended up being a bit disturbed. Pastor had set his alarm for 2 am for pray...

Turners' Travels: Haarlem

http://turners09.blogspot.com/2012/02/haarlem.html

Our travels from New Zealand to Europe and East Africa in 2009 and 2011. Monday, February 13, 2012. It was another lovely day, but unfortunately I was feeling very tired and was struggling a bit with a migraine that had started the previous day. We went out mid-morning into the town centre, found a carpark in a parking building and went for a walk down the streets to the ten Boom museum. Deep shadows still filled some of the narrow streets due to the tall buildings blocking out the morning sunshine.

Sunday in the Kolbe household is rather different from what we’re used to. It’s a day for sleeping in and having a substantial breakfast (brunch? He and Judith were planning to move to NZ in May and didn't want to have to pay too much excess. Anthony was also going to bring some luggage back with him. ...It wa...

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. 2010 First Day of School. Jackson and Emma started the new school year today and we now officially have a 2nd grader and a 4th grader. ugh. They are growing up so so quickly. Two weeks from now and Brian will have his 1st day of preschool. :-). Thursday, July 22, 2010. How long has it been? I'm never here anymore. But I just had to stop by and post the shortest of videos. Emma is in summer camp right now and is learning so much! Thursday, February 11, 2010. The kids got their ...
