Is located on the holiday village just off the A165 road between Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. It is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach at Filey Bay. The 5 mile stretch of golden sands are ideal for walking, paddling, playing games, surfing, angling or just sitting and watching the world go by. The we are informed that a buggy service is available to give lifts to and from the beach. Please enquire at the holiday village reception for this service. Also in the village is The Filey Bay Pharmacy.

Turnstone Cottage was built in 2011 in the style of a traditional fisherman’s cottage on the outside with a contemporary open-plan layout inside. We have furnished it with a coastal theme inspired by the surroundings and history of Filey Bay. Lounge with comfortable L shaped sofa, 32 LED TV (with freeview and freesat channels), DVD player, X Box 360 and music centre with iPod dock. Dining area with table and chairs. Monday, 14 May 2012. A Trip to the Tip. Today I had to go to the coast. Not a bad thing to have to do. Driving through the Wolds, passing through the calm villages of my ancestors, bathed in sunlight, with fresh green leaves on the trees, bright yellow in the fields, blue sky with white clouds as clean looking as freshly laundered bed linen, was a pleasant thing to be doing on a day like today. Tasks completed and lunch had, I decided it was too nice to head inland again. Close by was a Pied wagtail.

Monday, 26 July 2010. For a month or two now I have been visiting Allerthorpe Common hoping to see an Adder. I suppose I have relied more on optimism than studying the best time and weather and as a result have not seen any. Visiting today we arrived to find quite a few Gatekeepers and a few dragonflies. As the sun disappeared so did they. There were plenty of Common Green grasshoppers. And a Silver Y moth alerted us to its presence with lots of wing flapping. Posted by Wolds End Tog. On route I saw this Wood pigeon. And this Cuckoo flower. Moving to the other side of the hide there was not much about close up other than this Mute swan. I decided to move to the other hide. As a small child I was a member of the Tufty club - a brilliant idea by whoever thought of it as they made children take notice of road safety using a series of animations featuring a Red squirrel called Tufty Fluffytail that were narrated by Bernard Cribbins.
