The Write Place | Mostly Mondays
https://mostlymondays.wordpress.com/2016/11/22/the-write-place
Monday conversations and coffee. November 22, 2016. William Dalrymple in one of his acknowledgements thanked someone rich enough to own a private island and not use it and therefore it had been lent to Mr. Dalrymple to write in a distraction free environment. We should all be so lucky! And so it creeps… →. 5 thoughts on “ The Write Place. November 22, 2016 at 9:54 am. Liked by 1 person. December 12, 2016 at 11:05 am. Thank you Mr. Knight. Monday conversations and coffee. March 6, 2017. March 6, 2017. A short story inspired by and written as a tribute to those Bangaloreans who persisted with the protest against the proposed 6.72 kilometre steel flyover in the city. Also in memory of the seventeen trees recently killed on the outer ring road by acid being poured around their roots. This was done to provide a better view of an advertisement hoarding which displayed the beauty of sunsets in New York! Being seventeen Vriksh couldn’t keep his m...

https://miathereader.wordpress.com/2013/07/29/books-of-bondage-why-i-broke-up-with-some-of-my-books-today
Reading books, scribbling words, and loving family. July 29, 2013. Books of Bondage: Why I Broke Up With Some of My Books Today. When my husband and I moved into our second home after being married for two years, we had bookshelves that looked kind of like this:. The shelves really didn’t have anything to do with our decision to buy the house. No really… they didn’t…. Will I ever read this book again? Will any of my friends want to borrow it? Will I want my children to read it one day? I don’t have...

And so it creeps… | Mostly Mondays

Monday conversations and coffee. And so it creeps…. December 5, 2016. The fourth book in the Lockwood and Co. series is weird and wonderful – magical, swashbuckling, nail biting, humourous and on the edge of the seat terrifying. All at the same time. If you ever wondered if it is possible to be scared out of your wits by a story and yet unable to put the book down, then this series is it. It is partly to comfort Lucy and partly because that is what they do – eat doughnuts and waffles in the middle ...

Monday conversations and coffee. January 9, 2017. So, the pink Poui (Tabebuia Rosea) which should be blooming in March has decided to freak out instead in January this year. That is not at all significant- maybe the tree just felt like it this year. Or maybe it’s trying to compete with the Bauhinia Variegata which bloomed in December instead of waiting till February (we learnt more about the tree from the blog wildwanderer.com. January 2, 2017. The other thing that is happening around us is that reading ...

Catching Up | Mostly Mondays
https://mostlymondays.wordpress.com/2017/01/02/catching-up
Monday conversations and coffee. January 2, 2017. The world is changing and in somethings it changed a long, long time ago and we find ourselves wanting. So as it’s the beginning of the year we decided to take stock of the things that have overtaken us. We are not sure that any of them will become resolutions for the year but at least we will know where to look if we want inspiration for a resolution list. How can we get hold of the book? Perhaps the idea is not to judge but go with the flow or GWTF :).
