Friday, January 30, 2015. Last evening, at dinner, I asked the kids to make a gratitude list of what they are thankful for. One (smarty pants) kid wrote three items. Two of which were ". Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Yesterday I picked up a large pumpkin from Aldi, had a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks, and laid out all the ingredients to bake pumpkin bread. October begins tomorrow. Fall is here and with it a reminder to reflect upon our many blessings. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Forced Family (Fitness) Fun. When the kids were younger we spent hours and hours on the beach. Now after a bout of boogie boarding (and too many shark attack reports this summer), the kids have to be forced out into the great outdoors after the first day or two of beach week. We enjoyed walks on the beach at night when it was not so hot. Actual swimming (laps) in the pool, learning to do flip turns and "pool-lates" - my blend of aqua aerobics and underwater Pilates. Sunday, February 22, 2015. Packing, and packing it in- a weekend. I am retiring from being a packing banshee. Before heading to bed for an early start tomorrow, I will pause and reflect on the things that went well, and the things I could improve upon (packing tirades). We also packed a lot of fun into the weekend: starting with comedy night at the Sweetheart Banquet. Girls finishing discipleship courses and earning new study Bibles. Celebrating with a Starbucks treat. To combat our Valentine treat intake.
