2011 Holiday Craft Exchange | Two Moms Outnumbered
https://twomomsoutnumbered.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/2011-holiday-craft-exchange
2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. 2011 Holiday Craft Exchange. December 20, 2011. I came home a few days ago to a package with gorgeous handwriting that I didn’t recognize. I suspected it might be my holiday craft exchange gift, so I dumped–literally, it fell off the edge of the table! 8211;the rest of the mail and tore open my envelope. I tipped the open end and out slid this beautiful pendant from Sky Minded and Ever Growing. It’s lovely, isn’t it? 2011 Holiday Craft Exchange" (3). Oh, i *love* that!
Something New | Two Moms Outnumbered

2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. December 6, 2011. We tried something new this Thanksgiving. Nope Not a recipe. Not a new game. Not shopping on Black Friday. Not even something REALLY fun like sleeping in. Olivia and I took a trip. To the Emergency Room. Where we discovered (much to my surprise, actually) that she had broken her wrist. Oh, and to make it even better, she had to have a HUGE splint on to immobilize it for 6 (! Perhaps you’re asking what happens if they discover, at any point, tha...

2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. December 15, 2011. Todays blog challenge topic is loved ones. I have a multitude of wonderful childhood memories about my paternal grandparents. Just to tell a few:. That’s how your grandma looked when I first met her. I knew right then and there I wanted to marry her. She’s beautiful, yes, but she has a spunky personality and a kind heart that make her more than just beautiful. They make her radiant. Surely I’m the luckiest man alive. A nickname only she is allowed).

2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. Every Child Deserves A Family. November 21, 2011. Statistics say that the U.S. has about 405,000 kids in foster care. Each year, about 125,000 of those children are in need of an adoptive resource. Olivia used to be one of those statistics. I wonder if it might have been different for us had this been around in 2006. I’d like to think so. Please consider contacting your Representatives and Senators to show your support of the ECDF Act. Scrapbook Night! | Two Moms Outnumbered
https://twomomsoutnumbered.wordpress.com/2011/07/29/scrapbook-night
2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. July 29, 2011. Oooohhhh, I am so excited! Tonight I get to get out of the house…alone…to do one of my favorite things. Tonight I get to scrapbook! My New Year’s resolution this past January was to attend a crop at the local scrapbook store once a month since I never seem to find the time to scrapbook at home. I’m really proud of myself for sticking with this resolution. I haven’t missed a month yet. My current favorite is this one that I made in May:. Balance « ...

Queering My Family: July 2013
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 20, 2013. This is my 100th blog post, and I wish it was going to be a little more cheery, but it's not going to be. I have experienced the death of all 4 of my grandparents, my uncle, babies I've worked with, people I've know. We've experienced infertility and being unable to get pregnant and become parents. I thought I understood grief, I guess in theory I did, but I had never experienced the all consuming, heartbreaking, grief that comes with the loss of someone very close to you. Alex w...
Queering My Family: Long Neglected
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2014/05/long-neglected.html
Thursday, May 29, 2014. The absence of writing does not mean anything, it means that I still have nothing to say. Pouring my soul out to an online presence (one I had hoped to keep off Facebook, but has somehow made it's way onto my newsfeed) is not something I am keen to do. Update since the last:. J has successfully completed her first year of her program (of 2). She is hoping to do some work this summer (as am I! That's all for now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Queering My Family: Keep on Keeping on
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2013/09/keep-on-keeping-on.html
Saturday, September 7, 2013. Keep on Keeping on. This is an old post, but I really liked what I had to say in it, so I'm posting it*. It's mother's day today. While I am annoyed (and slightly disappointed) that we will spend this mother's day (and several more) just celebrating our own mothers instead of each other (due to the ever-present not-being-pregnant thing), I'm grateful that at this moment in time, I still have my mom. I know I don't walk alone in this, I've read enough blogs and had long 3am co...
Queering My Family: February 2014

Monday, February 3, 2014. Nothing to say. J is in full time school, it is INTENSE, but she is really enjoying it (and I am enjoying seeing her happy like this! Will it change the course of treatment? What is the value in this? How do we best manage his symptoms? What will happen if he dies at home? What will happen if we decide that he is suffering too greatly? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Queering My Family: March 2013
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 29, 2013. It has been wonderfully warm on the west coast. It probably won't stick around forever, but it's a quick (week-long) reminder that summer is COMING. This long weekend will see glorious weather, which is fantastic for all the Christians doing their sunrise services outside on Sunday (my parents included), where for the past dozen years it's absolutely poured rain. Thursday, March 28, 2013. I still get jumpy and twitchy and so anxious I could barf when I think about that moment (whi...
Queering My Family: December 2012
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 13, 2012. I follow a Queer Parents group online, I joined the TTC when we started trying last year, and have stepped back from actively participating in the past several months when we put everything on hold, but it's been fun watching my fellow TTCers conceive and go on to have healthy babies. I am so grateful. My role as the future mother of our kids is not up for debate, I can simply relax and ENJOY IT and not have to worry about explaining it all the time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Queering My Family: November 2012
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 2, 2012. The Price of Love is Grief. The title of this post came from my favourite podcast, The Savage Lovecast (with Dan Savage). I suppose a better line would be that the price of love is to risk grief. I love being a primary nurse. I love having the same babies, getting to know the parents, working towards getting them home. I love watching them grow, and try to keep in touch when they go home. Blessed be, little one. May your wings carry you high and onto your next adventure. The Pri...

Queering My Family: I actually have something to say
http://queeringmyfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-actually-have-something-to-say.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I actually have something to say. I am brushing off the cobwebs of this corner. J graduated (with distinction and two awards) at the end of May, I am so overwhelmingly proud of her. Finally, I thought, finally we can start to move forward. Turns out it takes a bit of time for wheels to start churning forward again. I started taking a prenatal vitamin. That was a *big* thing. It felt like starting to take it was the starting line. July 23, 2015 at 12:55 PM. I believe that everythin...

Two Moms, No Waiting | Just another plain old American lesbian family
About the Two Moms. Two Moms, No Waiting. Just another plain old American lesbian family. Toeing the Gender Line. January 27, 2012. My daughter was on the floor, arms raised in self-defense, as the two boys stood over her with baseball bats. Did your blood run cold just reading about that scene? But middle school is coming, with all its drama and social stress. I know you don’t need a bat to inflict deadly harm — taunts, exclusion, and online ridicule can do plenty of damage. What if new classmates decid...

2 moms. 3 kids. 1 amazing adventure. We’ll just call him Fudge. January 10, 2012. Did you read Tales of A Fourth Grade Nothing. I remember reading it, but it’s seared into my head mostly because I usually start out the school year reading this book (or one of the other Judy Blume books in the series) to my class. The theme of a pesky younger sibling is pretty timeless–and good for many laughs. I’m not about to leave my hysterical kid here alone.”. As soon as got home and ate a dinner of oatmeal, yogurt, ...

Two moms raising our twin boys. Monday, June 28, 2010. My wife reminds me that this is all part of the process and their growing up, but I'm already missing it. I don't like this growing up part one bit. Two Moms, Two Monkeys. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. We were supposed to start giving the boys whole milk this weekend, but got busy and forgot!
