http://www.techteachertidbits.com/2016/01/iste-2016.html
Tuesday, January 5, 2016. I'm super excited to be attending the ISTE conference once again. I went for the first time in 2014 when it was in Atlanta, GA. ISTE is by far the best conference I have ever attended.and the biggest. Someone told me there were about 20, 000 participants in 2014. I couldn't believe it but it didn't take long to figure out why it was so popular. It really can't get any better than that. You will not regret it, I promise. :). February 12, 2016 at 9:48 PM. Im going to be there, too!

Tech Teacher Tidbits: Flipping for Screencasting!
http://www.techteachertidbits.com/2015/11/flipping-for-screencasting.html
Monday, November 23, 2015. I'm back to tell you about another fabulous tech tool that I was introduced to at the Summer Institute of Digital Literacy. It's called Screencastify and it's so much fun to use! As students of the Institute, we had to put our project reflection into a screencast. We were given a quick tutorial and sent on our merry way. The shocking part is that we were actually successful! Why should you start screencasting? I did, however, feel the need to upgrade when I became a technology ...

Tech Teacher Tidbits: November 2014
http://www.techteachertidbits.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 27, 2014. First, I want to wish all of my bloggy friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. I am most definitely thankful for this wonderful community that has helped me, inspired me, encouraged me, and supported me in every part of my teaching career and even some parts of my life. From way down deep, thank you! Next, this week the students spent some time writing acrostic poems and creating tissue paper turkeys. But that was just the beginning of our fun! Sunday, November 23, 2014. We spent ...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. Summer Institute in Digital Literacy. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. There is no other like you." Angela Cooke-Jackson. Getting back to the conference Like most teachers (if not all) I had goals for this week. After all, I was spending nine hours a day with these people. It was going to be worth my time if it killed me. So here's what I was looking for:. To learn some new tech tools that I could bring back to my colleagues. That was it. Not too lofty, right? The learner...

the primary life: March 2016
http://the-primary-life.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 26, 2016. Poetry and Sharing Reading in Kindergarten. Shared reading is definitely one of my kinders' favorite part of each day. They love poems and songs, so I use them to help my students: make connections, build phonics skills, identify text features and love reading! Rog, 2011). Each week we have a sight word poem that we read multiple times and every time we interact with it we have a different focus. This has been a weekly literacy activity for four years in my class and every year ...
