After snow and rain all night, Kathy took us to the airport at 5:30 and our flight departed on schedule at 7:50 AM. Thanks, Kath. Dan and Candy Saase met us at the Harlingen airport. Went to lunch at the Longhorn Barbecue. In Harlingen. See pictures below. And, yes, the John Deere model D and the threshing machine were part of the cafe’s decorations. Evening show. Pictures of it tomorrow.

Another beautiful morning; high to be 85; and we see/hear about Minnesota’s snow storm on TV and computer radar. Jim was really lucky last night; playing 31, he won 2 games, over $2. First we drove over to Alamo with Dan and Candy for them to buy a clothes washer. Then we had to come back to pick up the pickup to haul it here in. Then we had to install it. And immediately went swimming.

Napped, swam, Wal*Mart. Mid afternoon temp near 100 (see pic). Bingo and supper at a park up the road a bit, Pharr South. With Dan and Candy. None of us won anything . . . terrible night of bingo. Friday, December 3. December 3, 2010. Up at 7; warm: 61; breakfast at home. Jim relaxing after breakfast. Jim and friends in pool.

Pleasant morning; 50. beautiful sunrise against very clear, blue sky, high today over 80; swimming again. Review Wednesday and Thursday as I added new items to them this morning. Just got back from our own personal “farm tour”. Temp is 81. Beautiful day. A long bike ride, and the sprayers were there. Helped Paul, our neighbor, replace a leaky faucet when he had to quit to take his nitro.

South Texas 2010 (for a month). Monday, March 1st. March 2, 2010 at 7:06 am · Filed under Uncategorized. Up @ 6. On the road @7:30. BE @ 4:30. Home @ 6:30. And after 23 driving hours over 1580 miles in two days, I’m home. But is my butt really, really, REALLY tired. And I feel very bad that I had to stand up Dave, Garth, and Hannah because I got home later than I had anticipated and exhaustion. All in all, we had a wonder month long vacation even though south Texas was having their coldest winter in years.

Opening Pharr for 2011. Thawing Out . . . ). Tuesday, December 14. December 15, 2010. Another clear, blue sky; temp 45 – hard to leave. Final packing went smoothly. Dan took us to Harlingen airport. Flight on time – even had space to spread out. Kathy met us at the Humphrey terminal – thanks, Kath. Great trip – looking forward to leaving cold again in 6 weeks. Only gained a pound in the 2 weeks I was gone. Now have lots to do to get ready for Christmas. Merry Christmas to all readers, and Happy New Year!
