Pipany and the Poltisko Memoirs. My website address: www.pipany.co.uk. Wednesday, 30 October 2013. Been a while hasn't it? Rather than an endless ramble on what we have been up to I thought a couple of short-ish posts - well, short for me - with plenty of photos may help explain what has taken place at the homestead. Can you tell I am in the mood for hunkering down with Little house on the Prairie now the weather has changed! First up is this. As is the way of things here it seems. Of course, we also had...

The Memoirs of Mimi Pearl.....on a quest to find beauty: October 2011
http://mimi-pearl.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 24 October 2011. I love this time of year, the transition of seasons. Late Summer has well and truly past and Autumn is settling in. I hate the dark mornings, but love the contrast of twinkling tealights, cosy blankets, a good book and a soya hot chocolate in the evenings. What do you like about Autumn? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Memoirs of Mimi Pearl.....on a quest to find beauty: The Affordable Vintage Fair.....
http://mimi-pearl.blogspot.com/2012/03/affordable-vintage-fair.html
Saturday, 17 March 2012. The Affordable Vintage Fair. After a hard week at work, Saturday saw me kicking back and taking a trip with my lovely friend Janet to Edinburgh to Judys Affordable Vintage Fair. After attending one of Judys fairs in Newcastle a few years ago, I knew what to expect and made sure I had my camera at the ready as well as some cash in my pocket. Packed with some super stalls, we browsed through sequins, leather shorts (I kid not! I was so wanting to get my hair done by Miss Dixiebelle.

i am inspired: Painting to music....
http://iaminspiredblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/painting-to-music.html
Monday, 16 March 2015. Unfortunately my felt making session at Ardleigh Green College for International Women's Day was cancelled due to sickness which was a shame. However on the positive side I was able to join some silk painters for the day over at Toots Hill in the Essex countryside for a creative play day with music. Waassily Kandinsky often used music whilst painting saying that. Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel IZ Kamakawiwo'ole. We then jumped to the energetic. Benny Goodman -Sing Sing Sing.

Friday, 27 September 2013. When I moved into my house 2 years ago I bought lots of second hand furniture with the idea to renovate it all and have a lovely house (little did I know how much time little people took up! This summer I finally managed to complete the stool to go with my drawers and I was so excited I had to share it. I love it and my other half dosent get as enthusiastic as me. When I started on the stool I found loads of layers where people in the past had renovated it as well.

The Memoirs of Mimi Pearl.....on a quest to find beauty: January 2012
http://mimi-pearl.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 5 January 2012. This versatile pattern from Colette Patterns. Here I made the Sorbetto top (which is a free download able pattern) in sheer gold fabric. I inverted the front pleat to make nice and loose, giving the option to wear floaty or nipped in at the waist with a vintage belt. Admittedly the fabric was a nightmare to work with, it frayed madly and due to the nature of the finish I was unable to press, but I love it! Wednesday, 4 January 2012. Collar by Colette Patterns. Saturday, 25 October 2014. Malevich at the Tate Modern. A friend of mine offered me a free ticket to the Malevich exhibition at the Tate Modern. So we packed up the kiddies, jumped on a train on a very wet Monday and headed on down to check it out. I wasn't too familiar with his work only knowing that he was a revolutionary Russian painter but on first entering there were familiar signs and similarities to the Russian Constructivist's. Art should remain a spiritual activity". Revolutionary of Russian Art.

Saturday, 30 August 2014. Child friendly days out. The view from the station at the end of the mini railway. I think this shows the Essex countryside in all its idyllic glory. Mini railway in all its splendour. They have great sculptures along the route to keep all occupied and amused! Thomas Heatherwicks "sitooterie" which I had been longing to see. It really lives up to the pictures by its tranquility and serenity, even with our little brood! Kids days out in Essex. Wednesday, 27 August 2014. Wwwiamins...
