Umbrella Theatre Seattle: We do witty, irreverent comedy so you don't have to! Tickets & More. You are here: Home. Where the heck are you guys? How may audience members can you seat? Aren’t you guys really a religious theatre? I mean you work out of a church basement. Some of you attend the church. And what’s the deal with the new play? You got Satan in it. Isn’t that like a character from the Bible? Are your productions “kid friendly”? For god’s sake, what about food? Where the heck are you guys? A: Don...

St Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Blog: Humility
http://stpaulseattle.blogspot.com/2008/03/humility.html
Thursday, March 6, 2008. I've been thinking a lot lately about Christianity and Psychology, especially in this season of Lent. The prayer book talks about penitence and even our own "wretchedness." It talks about confessing our sins and keeping a contrite heart. We fall to our knees in supplication. We ask God's forgiveness. We stand corrected. So how does this season of penitence fit in with our own self-esteem? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter your email address:. We encourage your comments!
St Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Blog: Best Christmas Letter in a Long Time
http://stpaulseattle.blogspot.com/2012/12/best-christmas-letter-in-long-time.html
Sunday, December 23, 2012. Best Christmas Letter in a Long Time. My friend Rhonda Warren, said something in her Christmas letter that I thought was exceptionally fine. I quote:. The thing that seems most pressing to talk about today is how to respond to what happened yesterday in Connecticut. How do we live with such a tragedy? In the context of our spiritual existence, though, are they more like events in the acts of a play? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enter your email address:.
St Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Blog: To Bee or Not To Bee: Why there is a bee on the Paschal Candle this year
http://stpaulseattle.blogspot.com/2009/04/to-bee-or-not-to-bee-why-there-is-bee.html
Monday, April 13, 2009. To Bee or Not To Bee: Why there is a bee on the Paschal Candle this year. An illustration from a Medieval Exsultet scroll (lots of bees). To bee or not to bee has obviously been a question amongst liturgical scholars. If one knows ancient Greek mythology, the restoration of bees to a chant at St. Paul’s is particularly appropriate. The name Melissa means “honey bee” in Greek! The Paschal candle which I ornamented this year includes a small sturdy bee - a token of all the creatures...

St Paul's Episcopal Church Parish Blog: Ready for Christmas Even
http://stpaulseattle.blogspot.com/2011/12/ready-for-christmas-even.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. Ready for Christmas Even. December 25, 2011 at 6:52 AM. As sensual these images convey shapes and form, light and shadow, one missing component is obviously missing - the texture of use which the cultic community will add through use. This cultic integration which the human person brings will overlay on these hard shapes our stories, that indelible visual marking I know as my own history at St Pauls Parish.
